Re: What's your favourite bird?
Gaah, I don't feel I can answer that question without insulting one of my feathery visitors. It's like having to choose which child you like best. From where I sit when I'm working at home I can watch them all day long, they always cheer me up and I get never tired of watching.
I've got a Robin who's been a pleasant companion and visitor on my balcony for quite some time now. Always sits on the same spot and sings. Other than the bunch of big and blue tits who usually just stay long enough to grab some goodies (unless it's raining, then they stay for a bit longer, cheeky beggars). In springtime I usually get a couple of bullfinches over. It's kinda cute how they are always together and on the rare occasion one arrives a bit early they'll sit and shout until other half turns up. It's rather endearing. Then I have a cutesy lil wren hopping through my flower pots, rummaging for seeds and insects I suppose. They make rather odd noises at times, but then I heard it sing once and it was soooo beautiful. One spring I had the dirt in the pots covered with moss for decoration. Lil cheek nicked it all! Long-tailed tits are lovely, too, but so shy. Not a big fan of magpies I have to say, don't like how they gang up on small birdies in spring. I love me birds. |

Re: What's your favourite bird?
None really,I`ve got a full-on bird phobia. In theory they all have things in their favour,in practice I just scream (literal, involuntary ear-piercing scream which in no way attracts attention or makes a show of me ) and run off.

Re: What's your favourite bird?
My favourite is the curlew- I like listening to them calling as they sound quite melancholy. They always seem quite tentative and careful when they're searching the mud with their long beaks- I suppose I just relate to them the most of all birds.

Re: What's your favourite bird?
In the UK, probably Robin, Herons are also nice, Woodpeckers hardly ever see those though.
