Default Do we really get wiser with age?

or it's just an overrated statement?
Do you think you have now a better understanding of life compared to what you used to be 10/15/20 years ago?

Yes. Life is about making mistakes and learning from them, plus accumulating knowledge.

Yes, I stress a lot less about the little things now than I did 20 yrs ago.

When it comes to wisdom, I'm like a reasonably priced wine. That's also gone corked. But still drinkable. Or another way of putting it, I'm starting to miss my nibbles!

I doubt there is a straightforward correlation between age and wisdom. It depends on the person, their life experiences, mental ability, self-reflection, etc. It also depends on how you define wisdom. I’ve learnt to become a little more comfortable in my skin, but also far less certain of anything. I think life is a bit like trying to figure out an impossible puzzle and in the words of the philosopher Don Henley: the more I know, the less I understand.

The older I get, the more I realise how hopelessly bad everything is, and how little we can do about it.
I miss the naive days of thinking that anything I did mattered or made a difference.

^ Yes I think life takes the optimism for the world at large out of you. I was much more positive about the world (and my own life) changing for the better when I was younger.

Somewhat, yes. Atleast you have some experiences and mistakes to learn from.

I actually feel a bit more positive now than I did when I was young, I was just very fearful and unsure then.

After sending my sister a WhatsApp voice note of my latest fart, I'm gonna go with no.

Depends how you define 'wiser'.

If 'wiser' means having a greater understanding of yourself and how to live in accordance to your preferences, maybe - though it's certainly not guaranteed.

Anything else, most probably not.
