First time poster, long time sufferer says hi

Hi, I'm Ripley. I'm in my early thirties, I live somewhere in the demonic concrete maze known as London, and I'm a recovering agoraphobe with serious, lifelong social anxiety. Those are the basic facts.

I'm not entirely sure why I'm here, except that I've been dealing with this for many years now and isolation hasn't improved anything. So I'm stepping out of my comfort zone a little and trying not to form any expectations, (they're often unhelpful) good or bad. Just looking for advice and some kind of community I guess. Here to learn.

I hope this all makes sense and I'm not coming across as a bigger idiot than I am.

I'm mildly opitimistic it will be a success, and hopefully they'll adapt some of the other books.

I've enjoyed all the Ripliad adaptations I've seen so far - Plein Soleil, The Talented Mr Ripley, and Ripley's Game. Still need to see The American Friend, and maybe Ripley Under Ground, though it doesn't have a good reputation.

Hi Ripley, finding myself in a somewhat similar situation and finding the answer is proving elusive, it's like I know what I should do but feel locked into this basket case of an uncompromising mindset and things just don't get done. Like you I'm here to make the necessary changes and get my life back. I've had enough of feeling this way. I hope that coming here is the catalyst for positive change you need in your life.
