New Here
Hi,
 Have just found this site after returning today from doctor who basically confirmed what I've always known which is that I generally suffer from anxiety which increases when I'm faced with unknown social situations and is also causing depression in me. I don't know where to go from here. I know I need to make friends as I don't have any real ones except those that are my boyfriends and I've become isolated. How do I make friends? when the thought of going to a gym or a club to meet new people scares me to death. I know I have to get out and do something, otherwise I'm just going to get lower and lower. The funny thing is, is that I enjoy the company of people but it takes a while for me to feel confident enough to open up, relax and talk without feeling like I'm being judged. I like the idea of the meetings and outings organised by this site as I need to get out on my own without relying on the boyfriend and his friends being around for me to go out. I know I've done the right thing in joining this group and hopefully it will give me the motivation, confidence and support to get out. |
