Hello
Hello all, I can't tell you what a relief it is to find this board.
I didn't even know SA existed until I stumbled across it the other day (it's taken this long to work up the courage to post this message.) Social phobia had been mentioned by a couple of professionals I see (I'm in supported housing due to my depression and anxiety), but I thought it was just some made-up thing, rather than a specific medical condition - and I'm such a textbook case, it made me laugh to read the symptoms, ticking them off one by one. I got such a strange sense of relief to be able to put a name to my condition, and to know there are others in the same position. Well, I don't get to talk to people much, so I guess I've started rambling. I really just want to say hi and thanks to the whole community - just the fact that this board exists makes me feel much less alone. |
