Bucky is crazy, you get so drunk you can't stand up but so caffeinated you can't sit down. It's a state only obtainable through buckfast.

All the best beers are brewed by monks, they know a thing or two about getting wankered.

It's used to make a balun or impedance transformer so I can convert 200 ohms at the feedpoint of my Off Centre Fed Dipole to 50 ohms, it's a tough thing to test though, it has definitely improve the impedance, I'm getting close to 50ohms on 20m, 12m and 10m, 40m and 30m are useable also, I will have to leave it on 40m wspr tonight and see if there's any small improvement in the S/N ratio, I'm not holding my breath...

I know what a ferrite ring is, but I doubt that many others will! You will never get a good match over all the bands, but as long as it is near enough, an atu will make it match for the rigs.

I use a tuned 40m dipole, through an atu to work 15m, I also have a tuned 20m band dipole off the same balun. Through the tuner on the 746 Ican work 40,20,15,10m. For 80m and the warc bands I use a full size G5RV through an MFJ 949 tuner.

Most of the members on here won't have a clue what we are on about.

Yeah I really should have tried to get some mudguards sorted today but there wasn't enough time, I'm just going to take it to a shop to fit some as I don't really have anything to cut the stays down with or bend them easily.

I don't have room for multiple antennae, not even a fan-dipole, which would be awesome, because then I'd dedicate a dipole for 10m and 15m. Will try a delta loop for 40m one day...

Yeah, you need great big bolt croppers or a hacksaw and a file. I hate fitting mudguards
