thanks prof willow

A very promising interview, although a couple of red flags 'people get stressy then smile the other end', but hopefully it's alright.

Spotty! My chin has decided to do a breakout art work display in the last hour. I felt guilty today for not tipping my grocery delivery driver today given snow was still on the ground. Scrooge I was and this is my karma. Spots and all. At least they delivered eggs today. Silver lining.

^yay for eggs.
Do you normally tip?
I would like to, but feel too embarrassed and scared they might feel patronised or offended.
What do you usually say?

^^ Fried eggs and a cuppa tea make everything better!

I don’t tip as standard, only occasionally if the weather conditions are extreme or they’ve gone out their way to be helpful/attentive as I’ve had many drivers who will just do the bare minimum re not even offer to put the bags/crate inside. I’ll only tip small £1-£2. I understand the awkwardness but worst they’d only say “we’re not allowed to accept tips as company policy” or say “that’s not necessary,” usually with a smile.

For my regular postman or courier I give a card at Christmas with a £5-10 note inside and he always seems genuinely grateful but yeah it can be hard to read the signals sometimes of when to and when not to tip (or by how much). I’ve had social pressure going to hairdressers because I’ve tipped high one visit and low on another. I always worry they’ll see it as a reflection of their work so now I try to only tip what I feel I can afford as a regular occurrence so if I’m not happy with that dodgy do or I’m low on funds that week, I’m not tipping high out of some social politeness. Sometimes it easier just not to tip.

well last time I had supermarket delivery, guy was looking expectantly for a tip. Of course I wasn't going to give him a tip because I couldn't afford it.

If I ever get food delivered (maybe once a year) then I always give a tip. I feel bad for not going to get it myself. Usually I say, "and this is for you," which probably sounds creepy when typed, but I'm a mouse, so hopefully that doesn't come across when spoken out loud. If it's hot then they have a cold can of drink thrust upon them too.

another interview taking orders by phone. I tried this last year and I had to keep googling the telephone numbers afterwards to find out who they were because I couldn't make sense of who they said. So I do not have much faith.

Devastated.
My dog who's 13 hasn't been too good.
Vet phoned today with blood test results and she says it's either Cushing's disease or a bad liver.

To determine which one a further blood test is needed (£140) and/or a scan of her abdomen (about £200)
Treatment for Cushing's is expensive, I don't want to sound heartless but the money is worrying me.
Boyfriend said he would help out with that.

I just feel so sad, this is the beginning of the end for her. She's kept me going on some days.
I just don't know what to do ATM

^ I'd take those WhatsApp messages with a generous, bucket-sized pinch of salt, rocket spud!

Work Christmas dos are full on anxiety, don't be too hard on yourself for missing it. It's one of the hardest social events to attend, I find!

How did the Secret Santa go?! Hope it wasn't as anxiety inducing as you expected?

Sorry, lovely, I can't reply to your message on my wall (is that what it's called!)

Glad the little tipping script worked

had to tell a housemate to keep his tv noise down. Of course as usual he doesn't take criticism well. 'Are you sure it's not another housemate?' 'yes, very sure...'. What annoys me about the landlord, everyone 30+ usually, and for some reason he accepted someone far younger in on this occasion.

Haha sorry I'm such an annoyance about my visitors message board. I think I've managed to switch it on now.

I think "wall" is the term used in Facebook, which maybe shows how old and outdated I am
