Recently The Circle. Not necessarily rewatch but trying to watch all the episodes. I’ve watched the USA series’ so far and am watching episode 1 of the uk version. The uk version seems more barebones and less manufactured although it’s only episode 1. Maybe it’s also cultural differences, maybe how you come across is seen as more important in usa culture?

Before I have rewatched Pose and Waterloo Road.

House.

I probably watch it all the way through, in the correct order, roughly once a year.

I almost never rewatch things these days, unless it's something I haven't seen in years. I always feel like if I watch something, it should be something new to me, even though often it'll end up being a bit rubbish. I reckon I'd be at least 4% happier if I just had episodes of Bottom playing non-stop on my telly.

^ more or less the same here. I think Gilmore Girls is the only series I've rewatched in its entirety and that's usually been as I'm getting ready for work etc and I'm not fully paying attention. I need background noise of something I'm not fully paying attention to in order to focus on anything haha. Also I think I rewatched it in the lockdowns when my anxiety was really high.

I used to rewatch films when I was a child but not so much as an adult. I think it's because nothing is watched on physical media anymore and if you wanted to watch a film you had to have it on DVD. There's so much choice out there. I just prefer new things.

I remember when Casper came out. I watched that four times in the cinema because four different people invited me to see it haha.

^ I bloody loved it, so was more than happy to see it that many times. Imagine doing that now! It would cost over £50 to watch a film four times at the cinema haha. Well, I don't think my parents ever paid for me to see it because it was for friend's birthdays.

I'm not sure about "consistently" but I've definitely been guilty of re-watching some films and the odd TV series,
Sometimes you can appreciate different aspects of a series that you never noticed before,
Often, I'll just watch up till a point then tail off a bit half way through as I lose that initial enthusiasm for rewatching it
I think a lot of more modern TV series are becoming just as good as some films, with almost similar production values and just a general feel of quality about it.

I often used to watch Michael Douglas films from the 80's & 90's they often seemed quite good acting, storyline, dialogue etc.

I actually prefer rewatching an older classic film than some of the more up to date ones,

TV series I rewatch sometimes :

QI
House
Rebus
Taggart (Mark McManus)
24
Homeland
Game of Thrones
Person of Interest
House of Cards ( American version)
True Detective
Breaking Bad
The Night Manager
Jack Ryan
The Wire
X Files
Kavanagh QC
Luther
Judge John Deed
Line of Duty

Meh,.. I probably watch too much TV. methinks

Aw Father Ted is peak comfort repeat watching. What a shame the creator lost his mind.

Some others:

Spaced
This Country
Detectorists
Dad's Army
Porridge
What Became of the Likely Lads
Alan Partridge

Also, The Wire and The Sopranos are endlessly re-watchable because of their density and subtlety.

I would watch a full series of this Samuel Beckett's One Foot in the Grave, Father Ted hybrid.

I used to rewatch dvds of things in the pre on-demand streaming times. Seinfeld, Firefly, Absolutely, Spaced. I watched hours and hours of extras on the lord of the rings dvds, the only bit I can remember is where viggo mortensen kicked a lopped off head so hard he broke his toe and they kept it in the film. With my withered attention span the only things I rewatch now are clips on youtube, Big Train sketches, bits of Brass Eye. I've a shelf full of dvds I know I'll probably never watch again. Same goes for stacks of records and books. I must be reaching an age tipping point now where it would be impossible to read/watch/listen to all the books and records I have before I pop my clogs.

^ I keep meaning to watch both the Wire and the Sopranos. I watch so much easy on the eyes/brain terrestrial telly cack and never get round to it.

I can't believe I forgot to include Downton Abbey in my previous post! If it wasn't for that show my tea pouring skills wouldn't be what they are today!

This thread has also reminded me of my appreciation for Dad's Army. Although I haven't watched it in a while, but it's still a classic show to watch. Oh and a fun fact. My parents and brother met some of the cast in 1976. Where they were appearing at the Winter Gardens in Blackpool and they just stumbled upon them. Apparently my Dad was in awe at meeting them. Arthur Lowe begrudgingly smiled at my brother and John Le Mesurier tousled my brother's hair.

I'm also reminded of the time in the 90s when we spotted Bonnie Langford in Blackpool. Where Bonnie was browsing at a pop up stall. It was then that I saw my Dad moving closer to Bonnie. It was like watching a David Attenborough show in real life. Where my Dad had spotted a Bonnie in the clearing. Although in my Dad's defence, I probably would have reacted the same way with Barry! While also humping Barry's leg! Which I believe is the correct thing to do when meeting a celeb.

I'm imagining them doing this whilst in character. Ian Lavender passed away today, I think he might have been the last of the original cast.

Agreed, Billy. Even though it was only a brief encounter, it's interesting how that interaction sounded like it matched up with their Dad's Army characters. It's just a shame Arthur didn't say "stupid boy" to my brother. And it's sad to hear about Ian Lavender. He was great in that show.

"stupid boy" "we're doomed!" "don't tell him Pike!" I think Dad's Army was one of the first telly shows with proper catchphrases, can't think of anything earlier. Don't tell him pike was a one off, it did come to define the show though, like the Del falling through the bar scene.
