I find the Dressage breath taking, such intelligent animals.
They can't enjoy carrying all those heavy loads. Let's face it, horses are idiots. If you tried to mount a giant cat there'd be a flurry of claws and nothing left of your face. Then they'd successfully claim self-defence in a court of law.

No way are they idiots, that's like saying dogs are idiots because they willingly serve humans.
The thing is, if I want a sugar lump I just go to the tea room of a fancy hotel and steal them. I don't carry an old man around a field. I only do that for a Werther's Original.

I'm sure you're right and horses can be happy while still serving humans but they are conditioned to do these acts. It didn't happen that, one day, a horse spied an elderly gentleman struggling with his Tesco bags and offered to help him out. They can be mistreated and pushed to the point of breaking. It'd be hypocritical to disagree with the services of all animals. But I think certain services should be looked at. To me, a dancing horse looks really forced and unnatural. But I don't know how the horses feel about it. I prefer to criticise, of course, from a position of ignorance.

Didn't even know we were any good at dressage. Surprised enough at Gold and Bronze in the triathlon lol
Looks like Trott might miss the gold, but Hoy and Pendleton are looking good for theirs. Another 2 more Gold by the end of tonight!

I read France is claiming Britain are using special wheels on the bikes to give them an edge and not the ones all other teams are using... to be honest i do question why team GB are so serective with the wheels on the bikes cos as soon as the race is over they cover the wheels in a bag.

Sour grapes I think. Hoy and Pendleton were that good before, difference is we have invested far more heavily into all the cycling events. Same thing has happened in the Boxing.

Well done Laura Trott! Just one year older than me and born in the same hospital as me! She definatly deserved it, and I like how smily she is.

Went up to London today, just to soak up the atmosphere and it was definatly worth it. Can't believe how well the transport network has coped with the Olympics, and I loved how many of the staff were cheering the passengers on with the megaphones. I'm certainly not used to people being so cheerful in London...i'm sure it will all go back to normal after the games lol.

France can't complain about cheats when Baugé has a history of missing drug tests; sure there may have been legitimate reasons for that, but history has shown us that people who avoid tests or withdraw at the last minute for undisclosed reasons do so because they have something to hide and would rather face a short suspension or miss an event than get caught cheating.

Nice ride from Sir Chris :trophy2: Nice to see him go out on a high. Shame Victoria Pendleton couldnt do the same. Seems like those officials have had it in for her especially as she was virtually pushed out of her lane for the sprint. But a silvers better than nothing and weve topped the cycling medals again.

I reckon they should see who can fix a puncture the quickest. Just give them a puncture repair kit and a bucket of water.
