She doesn't really annoy me too much these days, I think I'm used to her. Living here is free, which is great while I save and I get to keep an eye on my inheritance. I think if I wasn't around she would have to go into a care home which would eat through my inheritance quick.

Also if I didn't live here I wouldn't be able to take extended periods out from work, like I'm about to.

It's sad that a life of victimhood leads to this way of thinking. She spent far too much time around feminists and socialists. Everyone's a victim.

I did pay her rent at one point way back (no idea why) and of course she spent it all on alcohol along with my brothers maintenence yet didn't provide food for us, which was unhelpful given that I was working and my brother was at school. So I stopped paying her and started buying food for me and my bro.

Outside of that reason, she created me, so she can house me, that's responsibility for your choices.

Just because she's a nasty person. Ruining someone's evening for no reason is her jam.

Your mum sounds like she's in need of support and some professional help, have you not thought about finding someone who might be able to signpost her to something appropriate.

Not thought of bumping her off like? You have a handy basement? Think of the riches to come

The problem is, what fixes bad people? I don't think there is any help available to help bad people become good, apart from religion maybe. She's been in rehab a few times and she's been for counselling at various points, but she's always been herself and alcohol amplifies that.

Is it just me, or are people using the word 'buddy' a lot more these days? It seems to have replaced 'mate' for casual friendliness between strangers.

Schmosby, I can relate. I'm sick to death of my dad and brother squabbling at each other , especially my brother, people say why don't I move out. Well guess I'm a bit stuck in my ways , we've got a nice house here and I don't pay much 'rent'
I will also inherit half this place.
Actually feel uncomfortable being in the same room as my brother but I've actually got an easy life here otherwise. No bills to worry about.....
At the same time I would love to be with my partner

Your Mum might be a difficult person but she also sounds like she's got some quite serious problems which must affect her behaviour. Some sort of social service involvement might be needed eventually, if you plan to move out and stop living with her.
I thought you were going to say you get to keep an eye on your Mum, not your inheritance oh well.

TV Adverts for perfumes and such

They really are absolute bollocks

You always get to the end of the advert wondering how the garbage you just watched for 20 seconds has absolutely anything to do with the product. It baffles me, I get it must be difficult to sell a product thats generally invisible and only noticeable by smell but I do wonder what stuff the producers are smoking when they come up with them.

Utter utter crap

There are about six weeks left of this year and what have I achieved?
Jack shit
And most of the things I wanted to achieve at the beginning of the year now feel even more unattainable than they did then.

When you want to say to someone that you know how they're feeling but you realise that you don't really, you just have similar feelings, and they probably wouldn't appreciate it anyway because it's like you're hijacking the attention away from them to yourself, to talk about your own feelings.

That sounds like a great plan. It's almost the new year, so you could make this your resolution.
