What a day. So, asked to oversee at animal sanctuary. Got up at 6am , got dressed etc, took the dog out for an hour. Got into my car and nope. Managed to get out the car park - tho I shouldn't have, car juddering, engine light on, power cut out, etc. I think it may be spark plugs. Nevertheless I then had to ring the trustee to tell her I was stuck in the back of beyond, she rang one of the volunteers to give me a lift but she had no clue where I was, so to make things easier i had to trek down to the main road at speed ( a bloody fair way tbh) to meet her, got to the sanctuary late to find it was only me, T and the useless college girl. So 2 of us at least slogged are guts out until 10 to 3. Having to redo some of the college girls stuff after she left. Got a lift home from my colleague, thank God.

Haven't dealt with my car yet (as in calling the AA) as I was just too knackered. Will be a tomorrow call out. Got no food in as I thought I'd stop at supermarket on the way home, so have had to order a takeaway. Only 3 to choose fro on Just Eat for my area so God knows what it will be like. Bloody expensive tho.

I feel worryingly similar to how I did in early 2013, I hope and pray that I'm not going to go through that year again.

A little bit violated. Yesterday, someone asked me why I'm not married/don't have a boyfriend and told me that they think I am "too much alone here". I hate being asked stuff like this because it's not so much a question it's more of an accusation. Lets just call a spade a f****** tool here, asking someone why they don't have a partner is not OK, it's basically putting a bow and frills on "why are you such a sad, lonely old spinster"

Now, the honest answer to the first one is obvs mostly to do with the fact that it takes a fair amount of time and a lot of make up just to achieve a state of not scaring small children when I step out of my apartment in daylight and I don't really need that rubbed in my face.

As for the "too much alone" bit, yes, I am very alone, but it's not like that is a conscious lifestyle choice, it's not like I have chosen this, it's not like being vegetarian in that it's not something I have a lot of control over. The combination of low self esteem and crippling social awkwardness does have a lot of negative implications and again I don't need this rubbed in my face.

^ that happens with me also Melangell. The only positive for me is that it can be a fairly minor flick either way that has a big impact. So hopefully, if it was a relatively small flick that tipped you over then it might be a relatively small flick to tip you back again

Feeling like a square peg in a round hole, particularly at work. Sitting in an office and there is no one here that I actually want to interact with

Struggling with the heat already and it's barely got above 20 degrees.
Maybe I need to move to a colder country.

^^ Good to see you around again Quicksand and that you have been feeling lighter in mood
It sounds like your daughter is the same age as my son if she is leaving School and preparing to go to college.

Which brings me to how I am feeling...

Stressed up to my eyeballs

My son has his English literature GCSE exam tomorrow so I have been looking through some of his notes this evening. The amount of poems and quotes he has to memorise is frigging ridiculous. Exams were never this hard in my day and thanks to Michael Gove the poor kids no longer have the luxury of entering course work.

I have someone helping me learn to drive. I've had my licence for 3 weeks now I think? Interstates and City's are so hard to drive in. Everytime I get home I have a huge headache.

Also had a discussion with the same person today about the meaning of life. All that did was make me more depressed.

^^ With a just a little more time and practice I'm sure your confidence will improve and you will find that you love driving Gomen. Having a car beats having to use crowded public transport for sure!

^ Yep it's hayfever time again. I've taken a pill today but am still feeling sniffly. I think my cats bring the pollen in on their fur.

Rapidly starting to feel crappy

Thanks Quicksand Yeah, I think we will all feel like celebrating when the exams are finally out of the way - never mind what the results may be

Yep, just another week of exams after the half term holiday and that's School done. I remember shedding a few tears on his first day at school and will no doubt shed a few tears on his last. College begins in September and perhaps a temporary part-time job to coincide with this. They grow up way too fast
