I bought some Skol which is a low alcohol larger, not had or 15 years. Not having another, it put me off larger for over a week.

On Xmas day I think a good rule to follow is no sprits. Just one snowball then stick to Becks Vier or Carlesburg and Boddingtons.

Don't worry. I won't be going mad over Christmas. I don't have the money to and I have nothing to celebrate anyway.

On the 23rd after finishing work, I'm going for a meal and a visit to the cinema with my brother. I probably won't get home until around 11pm to hazard a guess.

On the 24th I'm dropping him back off at the train station (he lives in Ipswich and needs to be home on Christmas Day - he's up with us from 21st to Christmas Eve morning). I'll return home and basically spend the rest of the day watching TV and maybe enjoying the odd cherry or two. I'm not going mad on the alcohol front.

Christmas Day, Boxing Day and the 27th? Much the same as Christmas Eve – barring heading out the door. I'll likely be watching TV and having the odd drink. I might be slightly tipsy but I know my limit and that's where I'll be stopping.

I'm working on the 28th, 29th and 30th. I don't know why as the industry I work in is largely shut down over the Christmas period. I'll likely be twiddling my thumbs and maybe cheekily surfing the internet as there will be literally nothing to do.

On the 31st, New Year's Day and 2nd? Repeat Christmas Day, Boxing Day and the 27th.

I just need a background level of inebriation to act as a low-pass filter against the sheer excessive Christmasiness of it all.
