127 Hours

Really liked it actually. Danny Boyle's direction I find irritating sometimes but here it seemed cohesive rather than gimmicky. Recommended.

Harry Brown

Fairly entertaining and well worth a watch, Michael Caine excels at dishing out nasties a good taste of their own medicine

Inside Man - 5/10

Not the best Spike Lee film.
I just thought it'd be a bit better with everyone telling me to watch it all the time. Maybe its because I'm not a big fan of Denzel Washington, his suits + hat did make me laugh though throughout the movie.

Thought they'd be a bigger twist to everything but no, i do love a bit of Clive Owen though <3

Bieber fever...or is it Bieber Diva?!!
I'm sure he's a very lovely boy...but a short, sharp slap wouldn't go a miss imo,lol.

The Other Guys 7/10 It had quite a few laugh out loud moments and i'd give it an extra point for it's underlying political viewpoint on capitalism and those nasty banker types!

Zombieland 7/10

Mostly pretty good. However, the zombies were too vulnerable to being shot (relentlessness is one of the key features of zombies that makes them menacing) and the conclusion of Bill Murray's cameo really breaks with the overall tone of the film. Otherwise, an enjoyable film.

At the Edge of the World - 6/10

Good documentary on Japanese Whaling and the campaign against it. I really loved the Captain on one of the ships (not the Japanese ship obv).

It made me want to do something like this, i don't think i could last on a ship for 50 amount days though surrounded by them ice bergs

Inside Job 8.5/10

Id recommend it, informative and far better than the likes of Michael Moore's documentary style.

Spooner 9/10

I really liked this film about a socially awkward car salesman whose life seems like it couldn't get any more glum yet finally decides it's time to take a leap. Nothing spectacular, nothing with a bang. A quiet film with a loveable protagonist and a nice indie soundtrack (The Spinto Band, Sparklehorse, Midlake).

True Grit 8/10. Admired this more than I enjoyed. The postscript didn't work for me. Otherwise liked the scenery, the plot had lots of variety and the 14 year old actress did a great job.

Life As A House 'Seen from a distance, it's perfect',... which is unfortunate because I made the mistake of watching this sentimental tripe from 6 feet away. Stars Kevin Kline, Kristin Scott Thomas and Mary Steenburgen who we see getting banged by her sixteen year old daughters boyfriend who also happens to enjoy pimping out his school friend, who, when he's not getting head from the guy next door, likes to get his jollies with a bit of autoerotic asphyxiation ( poor Kristin didn't look best pleased finding her son lying all stiff on the floor like that!! ) before going to help his dying daddy build a house. 2/10 This was almost as bad The Weather Man starring Nicholas Cage,.... man, is that a shite movie!

'All the boys love Mandy Lane'
Hilariously movie with an all too predictable twist - that girl was way too calm and quiet!
Selective but quality bits of gore that were reasonably unexpected and made me go urgh and hide behind a cushion on the sofa!
all in all 7/10...worth seeing but probably wouldnt bother watching again.

Rather grim, but nice story and in the end i thought it was really good.
Agree - Memento is my favourite film, and I really liked Gone Baby Gone.

Watched Unknown at the weekend, and really liked it - entertaining. 8/10. Nothing too deep though, just great entertainment. Have also seen it slated though!
