Went to a wedding reception and actually danced. An achievement considering I'm one of the worst dancers you'll ever meet and for that reason hate doing it.

A testament to just how much I've managed to overcome my SA over the years.

I recently joined a makerspace / hackspace - it's a club for people who want to build things with a workshop full of tools and equipment.
I've got a few projects that I've been trying to make at home, such as a clock using Nixie tubes for the display and another electromechanical clock thing.
I'm going to the electronics night tonight and I'm a bit nervous to meet people there for the first time!

Great thread!

Today I had coffee with my support worker at my flat, then went for a 5k jog and sent an email about a volunteering group so not a bad day.
I'm still trying to make small forward moves everyday even though I feel pretty stuck at the moment.

Locked eyes and spoke intently to an extreme extrovert today for a good five minutes.I rarely experience people with such confidence able to speak loudly and grin and just look as though they are sizing you up without a hint of looking away .I did well i held my own but god was it tough a bit like playing chicken who would falter first not that he ever would

For the next hour and a half he had everyone else laughing totally waiting on his next funny aside , his whole demeanor exuded power..i was a bit jealous and the same old feelings of i could never entertain like that next time i work there...oh well recovered later ..i am who i am too late to change that.

Deweeded the back-back garden.... well, made a start i should say.

It's gonna take a good few more hours to get anything close to decent - working just by hand is a slow process when there are many weeds per square foot (not to mention the bloody leaves cluttering the place up). My dad recently took the blow-torch weed-killer thing we had (and never used), which would have been perfect for the job. It's rewarding work though and i'll be at it again tomorrow..... there'll be a mass woodlice migration to contend with... i don't know how this government will cope

Went with my partner to go and pick up something he'd bought from ebay yesterday. Was tempted to stay in the car as I find it a bit anxiety-provoking to go into the house of someone I don't know, expecting to have to make small talk. But went with him and it was fine.

Afterwards we went for lunch in a pub nearby and had a really bizarre experience. Everything had been fine and we went up to the bar to pay. It was a very small place so I think it was clear we were waiting, but someone else came along and went in front of us. My partner spoke up about how we'd been waiting first (just politely, as it did feel like we'd been treated a bit rudely - is this fair?) and we got a torrent of hostility from the landlord. He (aggressively!) made it clear we weren't welcome, that he could serve whoever he wants and also told us to look at his face and tell us whether we thought he looked concerned (clearly he must've been in some way, as he wasn't exactly acting reasonably) and told us to leave. We left (he pretty much looked like he wanted to punch my partner and myself) - without having paid as he didn't seem to want to let us (so free lunch in consolation!) wondering what on earth had just happened.

Left a review online, which he replied to with some personal attacks about us (we're pretentious and obnoxious - everyone else at the bar apparently thought so, and I'm a 'little girl who should go away', despite being 29 years old and the pair of us being nothing but polite throughout the whole time we spent having lunch ). Wondered whether I should have just left it, but pleased I did actually outline our honest experience as have never experienced such weird, uncalled for rude treatment from anyone working in any type of business before in my life!

Mutedsoul I've been toying with the idea of going to something similar. Actually I remember from another thread that you're North London based so it could well be one I've glanced at. What actually happened at the Meetup?

felt meh today, couldn't wake up this morning so went back to sleep even though I generally feel worse about things when I do that...
however, I still managed to do my stretches and weights routine and had a nice cycle ride later in the day.

Well done!

I've done a few exams as an adult and receiving the results was always a heart thumping moment for me. Getting a good grade felt like winning an Olympic gold at the very least. Well done again.

I attended a guided recovery walk on Exmoor which was great although the weather wasn't. Met a few new faces each with a story around mental health and recovery. Id recommend it to anyone wanting to get out and about.

I got up at out the door by 7.30 to have a walk and clear my head. I plan to do that every morning until I find a job. My days need structure.

I wrote a checklist for the day ahead.

I took a career aptitude test.

Most importantly, I posted my first message on this site because I've accepted that I need help and up until now, I've never had anyone to talk to about this.

Well done Pink Lady.

I went to a swimming pool. And wore a ****ing bikini. Yuss.

And taught my son the basics of swimming without even being able to swim myself. He can now swim after an hour in the pool (his first visit).

I am awesome. Tomorrow I will be awful, but today I'm awesome.
