Are you passionate about anything?
Is there something you can talk about that either bores other people rigid with how much you talk about it or gets other people swept up in your enthusiasm for it?
The short answer for me is no. But then I'm not a very passionate person. When I was a kid I could go on about Transformers, and I got a few other people interested too. I'm still into them. The comics, at least, anyway. I've grown out of the toys though I did consider buying some recently. |

Re: Are you passionate about anything?
I'm passionate about art. More in acctually doing itthan speaking about it cause I know talking about it annoys people and most of the time they're just not interested.

Would have to be football I guess. It's been the same all the way through my life, and I don't really see that changing. Must admit I do bore some people with it!

Re: Are you passionate about anything?
All through my life I've been passionate about something. It tends to change every few years or so, annoyingly. It used to be computer security. I'm still interested in that but not obsessed any more. But I'm always talking too much about things and boring people, I think.

Re: Are you passionate about anything?
I am passionate about dolphins (surprise, surprise!), but I guess I bore myself with the sound of my own voice long before I get round to boring anyone else! I think I have managed to convert a few ppl into dolphin-huggers along the way though

Re: Are you passionate about anything?
I'm passionate about various things, but my passion for zombie films confuses and bores the living hell out of most people I meet, especially if I get onto the subject of what i'd do in a real zombie apocalypse, resulting in blank faces all round as I discuss the best weapons for hand to hand combat.
I think people are generally confused that I talk about stuff like that as A. I'm female, and B. i'm not a goth. If I ever meet new people and tell them i'm into horror films they always look suprised and say "oh...but you're not a goth". The two don't go hand in hand. Plus I like things like Hello Kitty and puppies, and apparently you can't like zombies and puppy dogs simultaneously. It's not allowed! |

Re: Are you passionate about anything?
Theres a few things I am very passionate about, speedway and football.
I dont know if people find it boring or they get caught up in it, havent asked them. Talking about football can bring me out of my SA a bit. I could talk to a complete stranger about it and not feel bad. Im still raving about the Ajax match last night. |

Re: Are you passionate about anything?
I try to be passionate about certain hobbies/objects/people but I seem to fail miserably - I can experience a surge of enthusiasm about something - take for example learning to play my guitar. For a week or two weeks I throw myself into its arms, or rather my arms, and off we go, but then I might have a bad day or something and then its twelve paces at noon.
Another example - football - I don't feel as strongly about my team these days as I used to or at least thats how I feel most of the time. BUT when it comes to the crunch and I'm watching a match the old passionate emotions are still there just as strong. I suspect this comes from a depressive state - the true human emotions, of which passion or joy are just two, are still there but are buried beneath apathy, worry and depression. Perhaps this is the case for you also sharpexit? Tackle that problem and the barrier to feeling "normal" or whatever passes for normal will be removed. |

Re: Are you passionate about anything?
I'm passionate about nature, I sometimes feel a bit over the top, some people are like 'so its a bird, a tree' you know and I'm like 'wow! this is so beautiful.'
I'm quite passionate about squirrels at the moment, (no tree rat comments or else) I love the way they move. Where we live they come into the garden a lot and they really make me smile watching them. They are quite comical. I love a lot of music, I find it hard to keep still if its something I like. Especially at a band or something, however nervous if its something I love I feel the need to move to it. Even if its just moving my shoulders or wiggling my bum. When I can't because of nerves its really frustrating cos I want to so much. I'm passionate about the people I love. |

I'm passionate about anime/manga (yes I know i'm a nerd), wish I could draw as would love to create some of my own.
Also a big football fan. Though my two passions rarely/never go together! |

Re: Are you passionate about anything?
Some times I feel passionate about certain things and then for a while those same things can bore me. I always get obsessed with them again though and go back to them again and again.
Art, especially drawing and painting of animals (horses since the age of five) I love pre-history. Ice-age up to the 'dark ages'. Along with that there is also a love of mythology and the mystery of the religion of way back then. Love books |
