Re: shopping
I can generally walk the streets okay… As long as I know I have some personal space around me, you'd hardly know I had Social Anxiety. Once that space is 'invaded' – then I start to feel uneasy.
Whenever I'm in shops, I basically get what I need, go to the checkout and leave as quickly as possible. I'm not someone who can often 'browse'. I've always been the same… The only time I feel more relaxed in such situations is if I'm with someone I know and I'm not there alone. I wouldn't say I have a fear of bumping into people. The problem I have is that they seem to bump into me – on a regular basis, as if they can't even see I'm standing or walking there… I'm not suggesting this is done on purpose by any means but it happens on such a frequent basis that this is partly the reason why I don't like hanging around shops in the first place… |
