Default The Sports Thread

Probably will sink very fast, but worth a go:

A thread to cover all sports.

-

Match of the day should be good today with the Arsenal vs ManU game being a massive game.

I was surprised to see Hamilton didn't win that championship. I thought he was ahead of everyone by a mile, I didn't know Raikkonen or whatever his name is was right there.

It was a shame he lost but Im sure him and Mclaren will bounce back for next season. And theyll do a lot better without that spoilt spaniard around.

Heh, Wigan boss gone. Silly decision I think as Wigan don't have that great a squad, nor budget. No idea who they're going to get to replace him.

How about Paul Jewel?

Paul Jewell would seem silly since they sacked him(or he left?) but it is a possibility. I'm not sure how much he could salvage things, his last season wasn't that great.

I might watch the Chelsea match, but may go sleep first.

He left they didn't sack him. He wanted a break but is now looking to get back into football - at just the time Wigan sack his replacement. I don't think he'll go there, but its a possibility!

Souness for Wigan i reckon.

Yeah Souness would be quite good to see have another chance at managing. I mean last job he got a lot of flak but how many managers come out without criticism after managing Newcastle?

Good win for Liverpool today though the team they played were very poor.

Israel played a blinder tonight! (thats technical football speak in case you don't understand)

How sad is it when we have to rely on Israel beating Russia just to have a chance of qualifying?

If ever the phrase "we was robbed" applied, it applied to Scotland today.

Shocking refereeing

Yeah I watched Israel on the web and they put on an good performance. I think though, it was Russia's poor finishing that ultimately cost them. Chance after chance and they wasted them.

Anyway, great England have a chance of qualifying now considering many people were already ruling out England's chances for sure(me included). Now they just got to face Croatia who are already qualified with an England squad that are missing a few very key players. I hope Croatia don't play too well.

Really unfortunate for Scotland, did so well but probably the mess up at Georgia that cost them.

President Putin , Roman Abramovich , Gorbachev , Men in silly hats , your boys took a hell of a beating! If we don`t get a draw to qualify against a team that already have then McClueless and all the players should face the firing squad. Scotland were unlucky how on earth was that a free kick to Italy that led to their winning goal? The Itie barged the jock to the floor. Most of the sweaty socks hate us but i always want them to win along with all the british teams.

If England go through after playing the worst football they've played
in years and Scotland havn't qualified after playing the best football in
years I shall cry and become an indoor Bowls fan.

Time for Mcclaren to go methinks. Aside from a very good 10 minute spell tonights performance was a complete shambles. Mainly due to his poor team selection. Best get rid of him now before he does any more damage.

What a load of tosh in a way i'm glad they got beat coz it shows them up for being overpaid premadonnas and a manager abit clueless and this coming from a football fan who is getting abit sick and tired of the attitude of the players who don't have no pride wearing the shirt anymore.

Yes McClown must go now although you can bet he won`t resign. Need someone like Martin O` Neil to motivate our over payed under achievers. It was a shambles apart from the start of the second half and still threw it away after getting back to 2-2. At least we wont see all the WAGS in the papers every day next year on their shopping trips and the players won`t be able to say they`re tired after next summer.
