What brand of butter/margarine do you use?
Just thought it would be slightly interesting to see.
I usually like Clover, Lurpak or Anchor. They're probably the ones with salt in them. |

Re: What brand of butter/margarine do you use?
Don't really have a preference, but it has to be real butter in a pure form.
‘Spreadable’ butters are like half vegetable oil or some other crap that doesn't belong in butter, and fake butters don't even remotely taste like butter. None of the fake butter products you get now are actually margarine, BTW (otherwise they wouldn't be allowed to advertise them as being healthier than butter, because real margarine is actually far worse for your health than real butter). |

Re: What brand of butter/margarine do you use?
I thought they're healthier cos the vegetable part isn't saturated fat like the butter part is.

Re: What brand of butter/margarine do you use?
What's sold as ‘margarine’ now isn't the same as what they used to sell decades ago, which was full of trans fats and supposedly had the texture and flavour of lard except 100 times worse – that's real margarine. Depending what they make it from, margarine can still have lots of saturated fats (some vegetable oils have more in them than butterfat). Not that healthy, really.

Re: What brand of butter/margarine do you use?
Used to have Anchor spreadable because it's convenient and more healthy than pure butter.
Then I thought that it's silly to fly it all the way from NZ, and environmentally unfriendly, and not patriotic (how the hell do they make money flying it that far!!). So I changed to Country Life spreadable, and it's cheaper too. |

Re: What brand of butter/margarine do you use?
Generally whatever is best priced at the time.
Clover atm. Unless it didnt have GMO in it I wouldnt consider any butter to be healthy for me. I can only afford to pick an choose what healthy food to get atm and butter isnt on the short list at this time. Though one day I would hope to remove such things altogether its ganna take time. As it stands butter is something of a low priority. |

Re: What brand of butter/margarine do you use?
Tend to go with whatever is on offer, however I hardly use it myself - I would only use it for making cakes/cooking.
I think we've had Olivio a few times, and we've got a packet of Stork at the moment. I am surprised thinking about it how little I use it (it's used by the person I live with). I probably use it three times a year! |

Re: What brand of butter/margarine do you use?
"Pure" sunflower spread - only vegetable-based spread I can find that doesn't add in dairy products as well. Great on toast and I made some rather delicious flapjack with it the other day.
