Just had a friendly 10 minute chat with the Tesco delivery bloke. Feeling quite good about myself cos engaging in small talk often leaves me either feeling bad about myself or having a full on freak out. Maybe only a small success, but still a success all the same.

Well done everyone.

This time last year even a photo of a cat could give me a panic attack, I was terrified of them.
I've gradually overcome my fears and on Sunday I actually stroked a cat that walked up to me.

Thanks everyone.

Well done Azalea - that's great.

Well done Calvados A 10 minute talk with the delivery driver is brilliant - it's hard enough just opening the door to them!

I made a phone call to chase up a training opportunity that I applied for a while ago, but had heard nothing back about. On Monday I'd phoned to request a call back but heard nothing, so today decided to pluck up the courage to phone one last time. I managed to get through to the person I'd been wanting to hear back from, and he said that he hadn't received my email (rubbish, I thought, he probably just hated the sound of me!) so could I please send it with my CV through again. Shortly afterwards he called me back to ask me for an interview, so I've got that next week now... considering I was about to throw in the towel with it, I'm glad it paid off to keep trying and refrain from letting my negativity talk me out of it. Phone calls are something I find incredibly difficult, so I've been feeling sick about having to make all of these.

I also finished up the last lot of coursework for the counselling course I've been taking for the past 9 months.

I'm just about ready to crumble under nerves (especially because I'm already worrying about how the hell I'm going to successfully drive myself to my interview, since I'm new to driving and have no idea where this place is!), but I'm going to keep at it. If it all fails horribly, then so what. Nothing much lost except a bit of pride.

Well done everyone else for all you've been accomplishing!

Managed to break free from my usual ruminating, and excuse making and emailed not one, but two people about getting involved in stuff. And one of those was setting up a craft group by myself. Yippie ki yay motherfu*ker!

^ Well done! I don't know if you experience the same, but sometimes when I do finally manage to get one thing done I find that's the best time for me to blitz a few things. If it's anxiety-provoking enough sending one email, might as well send two! Hope everything works out.

Thank you! I'm pleased that persevering despite the nerves paid off. Just bricking it about the interview and whether I could handle the change of career now! Going to take it one step at a time, and try to stay positive.

^ Nicely done, Newbs. I find that once you get into the swing of resisting stuff you're trying to have less of (in my case mostly Pepsi Max and pasta), it does get easier.

I managed to see the singer Perfume Genius perform at what I thought would be a very intimidating nightclub in London (Heaven) on Thursday night and didn't feel too anxious at all. It's a little personal victory as gigs are something I've struggled with a bit in the past (at least the standing up breed). The gig itself was fairly brill too.

^ Thanks, I immediately started regretting it and stressing, but I had a meeting about yesterday which went well so looks like it's going to happen.

Today I did something else I'd normally be stressing about and possibly avoid which went ok. I realised I've been making quite a few small positive steps recently, so I guess it's probably accumulative. I want to try and be more conscious of when I'm stepping out of my comfort zone and acknowledge it.

I dragged myself back out of my shell, even though I really wanted to hide in it. It stinks too badly of self pity in there though.

^ I've always quite fancied one of those fancy weed grabbers. I'm convinced using one regularly would be better for my mood than any of these fangled therapies.

Well done, Betty (all the way up there ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^) I hope your crafty group goes well. :D

Well done to everyone.
Fanks, biscoowitz. I used to go to them quite a lot (the stand up kind) in my last few years of school but could never enjoy them because of how anxious they made me. If I can do it, you most certainly can, I reckon.

Went to my interview and it went pretty well! I had an awful time last night, working myself up into a right panic, but as soon as I got in the car this morning to get to the office the nerves almost totally disappeared. It was very informal, yet positive and I actually thought to myself, at one point, "Yeah, maybe I actually can come across as a semi-normal human being".

Later on I've got the final class for a course I enrolled in last September. Considering I really struggled at first with it (it's for counselling training), I've come a long way, so I'm going to mark today off as a signal of progress
