Builders next door - whatever they are doing is sending heavy low-frequency vibrations right through the building and up my spine. It's quite unsettling.

Because the "Big things that annoy you" thread remains locked, I'll pretend that this is just a minor thing.

Those new hard-to-remove caps on Coke bottles.

A neighbour's fire alarm keeps going off for a minute then it stops for two minutes. Then that cycle repeats. It's on a constant loop.

What's going on!

^ haha please put them back, silly sossidge.

^^ usually when the batteries go they makes a few beeps in quick succession. Who knows what was going on. I fell asleep. Then I woke up thinking I should have looked outside to see if anyone needed help. As far as I can tell there has been no fires.

I've lost the viewfinder from one of my cameras. I'm not sure how as I always keep it in a box, but I tend to lose things so it's not all that surprising!

I've emailed the manufacturer to see where I can get a replacement because I've looked on eBay and Etsy. They have some on eBay but they don't match the lens size.

Do any of you SA babes have hay fever? Is there a specific way of finding out which specific pollen pisses of the organs of your face the most?

I seem to get it randomly and not every year, so I'd like to know what causes it.

Getting sun cream in my eyes, and then being unable to keep them open for very long over the next two hours.

^ gah, yeah! When it melts off your face an into your eyes. Stings like a b.

^^ it's so weird because it doesn't often get me! I'm not sure what to say to console the impending and inevitable grass pollen invasion. Eeek?

Thanks for the tips. Antihistamines make me feel really weird!

Start throwing in capers or caperberries into all your summer salads.
They contain high amounts of quercetin and have anti inflammatory properties as well.

Winner winner salad dinner.

People making whiny acoustic versions of decent songs. Don't ruin things with your melancholy murder of a good track, you sick people

but, they're so poignant, and moving, and terribly self-absorbed,.. eh, I mean poignant,
can't you feel the teenage angst of the tortured melancholic artist, (who hopes to sell lots of records)?

^ can't they pick something that was **** to begin with? like "hey, we're going to Ibiza" or "I'm a Barbie girl, in a Barbie world..." but in a slow minor key on acoustic guitar... just as miserable as those songs made us feel in the first place?

Cripes, yeah.

I must admit, the odd one good cover can be awesome,
But, yeah I've long been tired of the whiny, pitiful, terribly poignant acoustic slowed-down cover that is just too whiny, too angst-ridden to stomach,

But, I did like this slowed acoustic version

^^ on this occasion it was a cover of I come from a land down under by Men at work!
Not the greatest song in the world, but it deserves better than the musical equivalent of being knifed in a dark alley and it's pockets emptied of lyrics.

Though if you can make singing about vegemite sandwiches sound whiny and pseudo-poignant, you've achieved... something? I don't know what. Answers in the comments please.

I posted earlier in this thread moaning about being selected for jury service for a second time within three years. I'm now near the end of my two week stint and I finally got on a case late on Monday of my second week.

We're likely to be sent out for deliberation today and I've become very aware that my SA/introversion is going to be problematic. The case has been discussed whenever we're sent out for various legal matters to be cleared up with the judge and the three most assertive jurors have dominated things whereas I've largely been a passive listener.

Translating thoughts into words doesn't come easily or quickly to me and the rapid exchanges between the others (often talking over each other) is overwhelming. That trend is likely to continue when we're deliberating for real.

Weekly self care tasks. Including fingernail cutting, eyebrow plucking, epilating, hair washing, conditioning and brushing, bedding washing and drying then putting it back on. And many other things. So time consuming.
