Last night I had a 35 minute phonecall with a friend from chat and wasn't the least bit anxious.

Well Done Azalea

Managed to meet my cousin and wife who I haven't seen for 10/15? yrs. Had a glass of wine (not my norm at lunchtime) and decided I'll attempt it. I could see them sitting in the hospital Cafe (my cousin is the spit of his dad), fled to the toilets , took a deep breath and walked out to descend upon them unannounced. They seemed pleased to see me.
Bit awkward sitting after a while so I suggested we go and see my dad. The 4 of us seemed to keep the whole ward entertained .
They had driven down from the midlands where there visiting, so weren't staying locally which was a relief (from a sa point of view) but all in all i'm glad I took the risk and went.

Sounds like you've had a great meet, HS and Biscuits!

Was it something organised outside of SAUK, where you two happened to be members of the same group?

I stood my ground with a nasty bus driver!

Yesterday, I left uni and made sure that I had enough change to catch the bus home. (I'm very particular about this). I put the exact change in as usual and waited for my ticket to be printed. After a while, I looked up and the driver said 'That's not £2.30!'. I said that it was, that it was one pound coin, two fifties, a ten and a twenty. But he just sat there and refused to print the ticket! So I said, 'I'm going to take the number of this bus and report you'. Well, then, he was on the defensive. 'What are you going to report me for? It's not my fault I can't see the money'. I said, 'You were accusing me. You were being rude'. But he still sat there. So I said 'Are you going to give me my ticket, or are you going to give me my money back?' And he printed the ticket. Ha! A-hole! I was panicking inside the whole way through, and it took me two hours before I stopped shaking afterwards, but I knew that I was definitely in the right, and I managed to stand my ground!

^ And it's not your fault if he couldn't be bothered to watch you put the right change in closely enough! Nice one, standing up to people with SA can be extremely anxiety inducing.

Nice one AutumnLeaves! We should stand up for ourselves in situations like that, but it certainly is very challenging. I am just becoming a bit more assertive now. In the past, if I was in that situation, I probably would have said sorry to the driver, and got off and walk

Until recently I worked for a bus company (not as a driver). Most drivers were really good, but there were quite a few who quite clearly hate the job and see passengers as an inconvenience. How dare passengers delay the bus by trying to get on it

Thanks Aleks I'm glad to hear that you are improving in this respect too That's interesting to hear. There's been a few occasions when interactions with bus drivers have left me with burning cheeks and/or nearly in tears. But there are some nice ones out there too, and when they smile or are friendly, it can make one's day that bit brighter. Wish there were more of the latter type in Aberdeen lol!

I went out from work on my bike and had a picnic for lunch, I did make it a bit less enjoyable by searching round for some shade so I wasn't in the sun going through an open gate to sit under some bushes, only noticing the "Private No Entry" sign when walking back out after eating making myself feel like a right dope, but I didn't get any real stress feelings and had no problems while eating.

I went for an eye test today and got new glasses, which I've been putting off for nearly 5 years. Was aided by a little Diazepam and I was with my support worker, but I did it Also a good sign was that, although it was difficult to pick out some frames that I felt OK about, I wasn't completely wracked with BDD type thoughts. I still need to wear in my new ones before I stop thinking they make me look daft, but I at least don't feel irredeemably hideous in them.

Dragged myself in to town and bought some new clothes, I went quite early and luckily it paid off, there was hardly anybody about
I also grabbed a couple of bargains too.

^ Good for you im glad to hear you got some bargains.

I noticed how empty town was today, it was like a ghost town, just the way I like it I love it when all the kids are off school in some ways as all the mums tend to go town later or avoid going.

Well done you it may have taken you 5 years but you got there in the end.
Picking out frames is really difficult as you don't want to rush and pick a pair that you dont really like.
