I'm back on an insane sleeping pattern because i can't get to sleep when i go to bed, and when i do eventually manage to fall asleep I sleep for 10-18 hours.

Just realized how big this thread is so I am quite sure someone already suggested this...

But for me, due to having the same problem on and off for a while. What helps me is 3 main things.

Do NOT eat before bed. Eat atleast 3 hours before sleep.

Do NOT consume caffeine in any form again at least 3 hours before bed. Drink plenty of water though.

Finally. There is a herb that has been used for so long. Try using cannabis. Smoking is not a good thing health wise. But if this is just once a day before bed it will more than likely prove inexpensive and will probably have no adverse affects on your lungs. But this is just my 2 cents.

Or there is always edibles which is basicaly food with THC inside. These can be potent though so be cautious.

My daily consumption of coffee or caffeine is 2 cup/mug, if i drink more than that, i cannot sleep at all, i mean need more time until morning before my eyes shut
