Default At the Cinemas

Can never keep up with what's at the cinema, so I thought I'd do a thread.
At my local cinemas currently there are two main films:

Joker:

And Downton Abbey:

Potentially a good time cinema wise...

Joker
The Irishman
New Terminator
Star wars nearer Christmas (will inevitably be a massive let down)

Like to see Terminator in 4dx and Joker plan to see this Monday. Other than that guess just Star Wars and the Breaking Bad film on the 11th on Netflix.

Good to hear Joker is keeping Gary Glitter's commissary account topped up.

Paying a paedophile royalties to own the libs.

Putting in spoilers as it ruins the loadability of the thread:
Terminator trailer:

Think they have overmilked the franchise of Terminator.

He sold the rights ages ago: https://www.latimes.com/entertainmen...nd-roll-part-2

Glitter sold away all his rights to the recording and publishing of “Rock and Roll Part 2,” co-written by the late Mike Leander, as well as his other songs more than two decades ago, according to Snapper Music, the London-based label that now owns Glitter’s master recordings.

Some good points in this article:

The Joker and Its Enemies

Still, I don't think I want to see it.

Yeah I'm in no hurry to see the Joker.

Another one in cinemas:

I saw the joker, I'm not sure why there is so much outrage in the media. But I knew it was all high jinks like most things in the media are. It wasn't as sadistic or troubling as I was expecting. It was dark, an interesting character study and there's a very important message in it for society.

Those who saw it before finding out he wasn't getting paid would have seen it thinking that he was, and they didn't seem to mind. That tells you everything you need to know about that.

Joker was a 10/10 for me although part of the speech was a bit cringe cause it reminded me of that meme "we live in a society". Didn't even know about the whole pedo controversy until reading this thread

Oh, I'm so sorry - I was making and then eating dinner as is the custom around that time of day. I do hope you can find it in your heart to forgive me xxx

I'm not sure why you're so sensitive when it comes to discussing this film (though one could guess), but you don't need to take general comments about it so personally. If you couldn't understand my earlier, very clear post, I'll try to make it even more specific for you now: Cinemagoers who saw Joker in its first week of release, during which time everyone was under the impression that a song by prolific paedophile Gary Glitter featured in the film was earning him money, didn't seem to mind that aspect at all. The news that he actually isn't getting paid for it only came a week after it was released, so the "Ha! It turns out he isn't getting paid!" routine doesn't mean anything since people didn't care when they thought he was getting paid. I'm not sure how that could be interpreted as accusing anyone, on this forum or in the general public, of "supporting paedophila". Although if anyone on SAUK did think the decision to prominently feature a hit song by one of Britain's most famous paedophiles was a bit disconcerting, they certainly kept quiet about it.

This is going to sound really random, but I remember years and years ago, before the Gary Glitter hoohah, watching Birds of a Feather (don't judge me, I was only about 13 or so), and there was some definitely some reference to Gary Glitter and underage girls. I can't remember exactly what it was, but it sort of confused and disturbed me (being that age). Obviously they must have removed that from the reruns. In fact, I think he was in the episode.
I suppose this is why artists want to own their publishing.
