Re: Small things that make you smile
My Team Leader for this week asked me yesterday what I thought of him as a Team Leader as he normally doesn't do it.
Hahaha, I'm the worst person to ask an appraisal from because unless you're actively fecking me over, I'll give everyone total apathy. When I told him "well you've not been an utter tosser" I meant it with good will lol |

Re: Small things that make you smile
I met one of my younger cousins recently for the first time since he was a small child (I last saw him about 20 years ago) and we got on like an absolute house on fire. He must have ADHD or something. It's so weird, having conversation move along effortlessly. So rare with a new person unless their social skills are exceptional.

Sweet people doing sweet things.
I went to the shop to buy some spaghetti, but ended up seeing all sorts of other things I needed. It ended up being too much to carry and I dropped the spaghetti, then dropped another thing as I was trying to pick up the spaghetti. A man looked at me and said, "Would you like my basket?" |

A bloke sat in Tesco car park in a big BMW, banging out the tunes from his car as loud as his stereo system would allow.
And by tunes, I mean Mull of Kintyre by Paul McCartney and Wings |

Feel I'm getting better at using scissors on the hair mannequin I have. Am satisfied with the haircut, although a basic square layered cut that I did. Need to get better at sectioning.

Having a guy at work make a crude sexual comment about me believing I was out of earshot.
As a trans woman, it's actually really good to hear |

Re: Small things that make you smile
At work sometimes recently our department works in the hotels restaurants as our department is quiet currently.
The manager at the restaurant I work at in the hotel is passive aggressive to me and doesn’t seem to like me. Today I said hi and didn’t get as response. She was with another colleague that also recently is cold towards me. Most colleagues aren’t like this though. There was a timetable mixup this week as my manager said I would work in my normal department today but the restaurant put me on afternoon shift but as my manger said I should work with him I ended not turning up to the restaurant when she WhatsApped me to come in the work group chat. It felt good to not have to go. Also I’ve noticed every shift I have at the restaurant she is off. If I was honest I would just plain out say that I don’t want to work at the restaurant. It’s not the restaurant itself though that I dislike. |

Re: Small things that make you smile
It felt a bit like karma as just before my shift the passive aggressive boss was passive aggressive. It didn’t literally make me smile but kinda gave me hope. Like I could be a bit more assertive.

My new hair straighteners are absolutely amazing!
Omg! They heat up in seconds and the straightening lasts most of the day instead of 33.7 seconds on my old pair. |

Re: Small things that make you smile
Today I bought a big ol' bag of bark. I managed to get it in the trolley by sliding it off the pile and letting it drop into the trolley. They only had deep trolleys. Could I get it out of the trolley and into the boot of my car? I was hugging it and trying to drag it up. It kept slipping back into the trolley. This was going on for about ten minutes.
Then this man walked past and asked, "Do you need any help with that, love?!" So he put it in the boot for me. I hope something extra nice happens to him. Same thing happened when I bought some compost from B&M. Two fellas loaded up the car for me. One of them even took the trolley back for me and gave me the pound back. People are so nice! |

Re: Small things that make you smile
Just saw a McCain’s advert where a kid said him and his brother had autism. And he didn’t seem noticeably unusual. It made me feel like it may be the beginning of more awareness of high functioning autism. There may be a more wider movement to make autism less stigmatised in the upcoming years.
Kids a bit younger than me used autism as an insult as teens since in the mid 10s homophobia became uncool. I think at work I see the effects of this as people in their early 20s aren’t necessarily less judgmental towards high functioning autism, like some members of my age group, particularly if they are religious may not be fully accepting of lgbtq. |
