waiting in line at the coop, getting some milk, a lady stands behind me. first thing she says is this the queue? I say yes, it's a bit long isn't it? she says yes, i'm xxx, I say oh hi heh, she then says do you want to be my girlfriend? I am thinking wtf lady!? then she says do you have a girlfriend. I say yes (I don't), awkward silence. lady two infront of me in the line is cracking up.

I hope that my recent state of muddle headedness is just due to being depressed rather than something more serious.

I've move on into the old fart group in life

We had our works xmas do tonight, it was only a meal but we had to go for a meal because the apprentice is 17 and we couldn't go to the casino like we have done for the last few years.

We had to meet at half 7..he spent pretty much 99% of his time on his phone from about 8..and by 9 announced he had to go because he was going out. The other side of the table was 2 women in their 40's pointing out they couldn't wait to get home and get in their pj's

I mean I've always been anti social but inside I knew going home and getting in my pj's sounded about 50x more appealing than going on elsewhere...I've defo hit middle age I've never found going out clubbing/boozing remotely appealing frankly but when you side with the older group of people (despite being the youngest in the group by nearly 10 years barring the apprentice) ..it hits home your about 1 step away from afternoon bingo sessions

(disclaimer - I'm home and in my jedi dressing gown)

Just told my father that I'm really sick and won't be able to visit him today as planned. His response was 'okay' - no offer of help with anything, not even a 'get well soon'.

Lovely to know my one remaining relative doesn't give one shit.

If you pay to see a psychiatrist, are they likely to give you a diagnosis? I think I'd probably be willing to spend a few hundred quid just to have someone tell me what they think's wrong with me, because it's obvious that no one else is either willing or able.

so I got a letter from the nhs saying that I can't receive one to one support for my mental health issues because they go beyond "depression and anxiety" they can only offer some group therapy to me. disclosing my inner thoughts to a random group of people scares the living crap out of me, i've been reluctant to do this because I just feel totally incapable of doing so. I can't afford the private therapy the psychiatrist recommended. so my options for therapy are pretty bleak right now. ugh, I just wanted to speak to someone one to one i'm really not comfortable with this group thing, I never have been. it's funny how the psychiatrists when talking to me didn't consider I had a personality disorder and I was simply on the spectrum like everyone else ,yet when the nhs get in touch they are like, you have a disorder, we can't help you with therapy in that way anymore!

Yes they can. It's a shame people are having to resort to paying though.

this is what I have noticed as well. for some disorders non private psychiatrists will only diagnose if you are considered a danger to others. in my case since I am not a danger to others I am undiagnosed for issues unrelated to anxiety and depression.

Yeah, this is where I'm at too . It's frustrating being fobbed off all the time. I do have a psychiatrist diagnosis of Social Anxiety disorder but everything else is just ignored.

One of my oldest friends msg'd me earlier, her partner who is a nurse has ended up in A&E himself with severe headache/pain and high blood pressure, apparently he's had to have a CT scan and all sorts.
Hope he's alright. Does make you stop and think - he's about the same age as me. 40 ish.

It happens sadly, people are not emotionally there or some other reason you might never know. Other people will come along.

I went for a walk this morning through the nature reserve and a man and woman jogged past me. The man held back right near me while the woman went ahead and I thought he was going to say something, but he just turned towards a tree and started peeing. He was literally about ten feet away from me on the path, acting like it was completely normal. When he finished he just ran ahead to catch up with the woman. What a world.

I guess I was referring to a lack of any friends in the 'real' world (although I'm not for a moment saying that online acquaintances aren't a godsend to a lot of lonely folk).

A neighbour recently shared a post on Facebook that read:

"Everyone has a friend during each stage of life. But only lucky ones have the same friend in all stages of life."

As someone who hasn't had a friend during each stage of life (as much as I've tried to be friendly) I can't help thinking that I must be a really horrible person to have struggled to achieve something that everyone else supposedly takes for granted.

Facebook is becoming rather good at making me feel even more of a total misfit than I already feel

this happened with me last summer. the person was out walking their dog in a public place and just started peeing on the side of the path. this was a walkway where kids go past on their bikes and families go for days out!...

Reminds me of when I was a teenager, I was in the park when I saw a couple walking and the woman just pulled down her leggings and relieved herself on the path!

On a different tangent, that's one heck of a pizza Where can I get one of those?
