Re: Over 40's?
Woke up this morning and surprise surprise I'm 42 today. I'd actually forgot and had to be reminded. Looking at the reflection in the bathroom mirror I need to lose a few pounds and get back into shape.

Re: Over 40's?
I was 44 last month but don't feel a day over 80.
Actually it all balances out as I have the mentality of an 11 year old and the body of a 77 year old Can we make this a 40+ only thread and moan about young people today? |

Re: Over 40's?
Hi
I’m 47. I left my country and came here to become a student 13 yrs ago. Since then I found a job, worked for 10 years, and got married to my hub. So I can’t be a weak person! But, SA has always been with me from the beginning of my adult life. I thought I’ve grown out of it but it comes back when my confidence is damaged. (I was made redundant this year) I think I have to learn to live with it, to some extent. |

Re: Over 40's?
Hi
I am not 40 yet but will be soon (January next year). Even I was wondering if there were other people a little bit older or everybody was in their twenties. Even I feel younger than I am, but still prefer to talk to people my age. It would be a good idea to get together sometimes with other 40something......... |

Re: Over 40's?
yes but where and when? i actually think the priority shud be a dedicated chatroom for us. i find the chatrooms i have been in - even the sauk ones can get too hectic and too yoiung generationy in terms of the linguistic patter eg "cool" and what they talk about MP3 and iPOd etc and ive no knowledge of any music beyond 1990!
Yes I know most of us can and do cope with these newfnalged modern gizmos but the talk can get a bit much and abit confusing and fast and it makes me feel like being the uncle at a teenage party. more importantly we have something they don't - a lot more life experience. we have been thru the teenage angst years and the uncertain twenties and the disillusioned thirties.... am i hitting any of the right notes here? |

Re: Over 40's?
I'm almost 48 (25th Dec). My personally has changed dramatically since I reached my 40's. My confidence seems to have flown away and i have become an introvert, the complete opposite of what I used to be in my 20's and 30's. Ah well.
