Default "Sniffing body odour is tested as an anxiety therapy"

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/health-65049739

"Sniffing other people's body odour might be useful in therapy for social anxiety, say Swedish researchers who have started tests with volunteers.

The scientists have been using armpit sweat in their experiments."

Here are the details of the study: https://www.isrctn.com/ISRCTN6440886...23_on-medicine

It will be published in December.

It’s part of an *trigger warning for brexiteers* EU funded project called POTION: https://potionh2020.com/

They also have a Twitter feed: https://twitter.com/PotionProject

I don't need armpit sweat therapy, I've travelled on the Tube before. Guess what, it didn't work.

Why are we all talking about sniffing men's armpits?

What about women's gussetts?
(for men at least )

The article says that it was women with social anxiety that were taking part in the study. How debilitating their anxiety was we can't know, but obviously enough to be seeking therapy, which they were also all recieving.

It's an interesting theory. I'm not sure I would want to be smelling stranger's sweat.

I'll put some on ice until your sense of smell returns.

Retention fee: £3.50 per day.

(seriously - hope you're better soon!)

I must say... I've been working with the general public (many of whom stink) for five years now, and my Social Anxiety has gradually disappeared (along with my capacity for disgust).
