That Howard Hughes after his near fatal airplane crash invented/designed the modern motorised hospital bed whilst recovering in bed with his injuries.

Not to ever bother with M&S's pot of pesto pasta with spinach and pine kernels. I've chewed on more flavoursome lip skin (my own, mostly).

Re: What didn't you know until recently?
I have driven faster than the minimum takeoff speed for a unladen jetliner. I know it doesnt look that fast but I assumed it was an illusion.
Plus, it is possible to get so bored that you end up googling that kind of crap !!! |

It's a wonder how often you learn something new in a service station toilet (there were ads for them above every other urinal). |

Just two inches per year on average in its inner regions. I didn't know that dogs can eat apples, oranges, bananas and watermelon... even though I've had dogs since 2005. I also saw a woman feeding her dog blackberries straight from a bramble the other week. I didn't know dogs ate those either. Apparently, strawberries and blueberries are also really good for a pooch too. |

^ Years ago I was bitten by a house spider, on the neck. It was in a shirt I was putting on.
I think you should train yourself a spider army. |

had noticed a few spiders kicking about my bedroom doing their own thing, so, I thought, fine, each to their own and ignored them, went to bed one night, when it was cold,. wrapped up well and went to sleep, during the night I had this awful pain in my nose, it felt awful and was bleeding, being frozen and half asleep, I just blew my nose in a tissue and went back to sleep, when I got up next day, I thought "wtf was all that bleeding about last night?" I dug out the tissue, and on unravelling it, I saw a huge spider sat in the middle of it, it had obviously crawled up my nose during the night for a heat and inadvertently bit or scratched my nose making it bleed,.. urgh.. |

Okay. Okay. *deep breath* Here goes: Plants talk to each other via a mycelium fungus internet. And some of them use it to hack into others. I've already said too much. We don't know who - or what - may be listening. What we do know is that the uprising has begun. Burn the forests down, people! Here is a link. Keep it safe! And if I don't delete this post within the hour, you'll know they got to me. |

I mean, can you imagine - can you imagine if something like that developed a taste for human flesh? Actually it would explain a lot. Anyway, excuse me while I just go and stand on one leg in the corner for 23 seconds for NO PARTICULAR REASON... |

I hear you. The rapidly-atrophying human part of me boggles that I am so gee'ed up about this. Another, louder part of me feels like I would do literally anything to help usher in a new myco-civilization. Let the giant puffball hold dominion over us all, for we are all its spores! Have I been compromised? Am I consumed by the 'shroom? I have been dreaming of death-caps lately, composing elegies to the destroying angel. What if - oh, shit, what if we are spreading the fungal imperative via this internet, via these messages? What if the regular world wide web and the woodsy, subterranean, gooky one are SOMEHOW CONNECTED? *little mushroom voice in my head whispers: that'd be great!:D |
