Tommy Cooper
Watching a program about Tommy Cooper. Maybe I've had a humour by pass but I never thought him funny.

Re: Tommy Cooper
I don't think I've ever actually seen anything by him before. I always found him vaguely creepy, in a sort of mad uncle way. Actually, thinking about it, about all I've seen is him dying on stage, which is probably where the creepy factor comes from.
Growing up though, I found lots of random old stuff creepy. I was legit scared of the Beatles at one point. |

Re: Tommy Cooper
My dad loves him.
I think maybe comedy was different back in the 70s 80s not like it is today. Seems like all people need to do now is get up on stage and start swearing and the audience will laugh. I don't find him that funny but at least he had a bit of a talent in his magic tricks |

Re: Tommy Cooper
I always used to call him the 'Bogeyman' when I saw him on TV when I was a kid. He died only a couple of months after I was born, but I always attribute that fez to the bogeyman.
My dad used to love him, though. In a quiz involving Tommy Cooper punchlines, he got them all correct. |
