Stole this idea from my local radio station. Simply finish the sentace with something comical.

For example:

It so hot today that...

...Goth kids are listening to Wet Wet Wet
...My Paddling pool jumped into itself

Hopefully you can come up with something funnier than that

Haha my dad said something similar to that earlier... 'Cept it was frozen prawns not a chicken.. He said he daren't get any as theyll be cooked by the time he's walked home with them
