What goes on when youre asleep
Well after reading my latest book on sleep, it's taught me something very interesting that I never realised. I always thought sleep and dreams and so on were a load of bollocks but it seems that we actually work out our problems during our sleep. I have noticed this too, a few times I have woken up suddenly and realised that while asleep I was solving lots of SA problems, for example working out what the best way to think would be in certain situations etc. I was conscious of doing this for a good hour or so in my sleep.
If we don't get enough sleep then we don't get enough time to sift through all our problems and so we are left feeling bad the next day. Is anyone else into this sort of stuff? I'm considering keeping a dream diary because, as my therapist said, you can learn what's going on in your subconscious, as dreams often follow a pattern over time. BTW we are all meant to get 8 hours sleep at least to function most efficiantly throughout the day. I was surviving on 6 hours before (Emote: smash3) |

We're actually meant to sleep 10 hours, as they do in other cultures, but due to our busy workloads people just don't find the time these days.

I think Margaret Thatcher used to manage on four hours. Yeah, I've read that we problem solve in our sleep. It's not working very well for me though. |

I keep napping recently and ruining my nights sleep, which can't be good in mental terms.

Older people actually sleep less than children iirc. Sleep is important but it is possible to get by on very little (as most of my pre-teenage years prove, when I was managing on anything from nothing to 4hrs a night, god I hated sleeping, it felt like giving in to school swallowing up all my time)
