Oh yeah! Sun marshmallows would taste delicious and they'd melt really quick, could make a good cheese grill up there as well. And even better than that, you can have a really nice big bonfire!

Usually the sun and blue skies make me feel good. Usually sorting things out like yesterday (hair cut, getting a present) makes me feel good. No effect.

tally ho and well done for putting yourself out there! :pirate1:

remember the old online scrabble shizzle? i used to have a lot of games with a school teacher from paris, over a period of probably a couple of years. at one point she asked if i would like to do like a house-swap holiday so that her and her family could see scotland and vice versa me and paris. i always take stuff like this as reinforcement for the "gotta be in it to win it" principle, where if i had just moped in solipsistic ennui, my bubble would have gotten smaller and smaller. yet merely by chatting on online scrabble i ended up getting that kind of offer!

i didn't take her up on her offer however because at the time my house was like an extremely fecund jungle floor of mental illness covered with all kinds of ravaging mental health insects and dripping with mental illness rare tropical diseases, not to mention some truly terrifying mental illness megafauna

i've kind of exhausted all relevant points here and what follows is just because ive had my first carbs of the day

-

man, its weird to think back, during the course of our scrabbling there was some quite considerable story-arcing. she confided that she thought her husband was having an affair, and in time this proved to be true, and i was a sounding board for her thought processes as she transitioned through loathing the sight of her husband, him being dead to her, wanting to leave him, then deciding that she would stay with him until the children were older, but that he would never touch her again and he would need to sleep on the sofa. somewhere in this process she told me that she had a dream where me and her were kissing (i showed her a holiday photo once so it may have been slightly visually accurate). so, i would have appeared as a slightly sunburned blip on a rebound/vengeance-fantasy map of europe sometime back in the noughties.

i think i need another cup of tea

My neighbour (not that i'm obsessed ). I had been about to send a strong letter of complaint but the music suddenly stopped from Thursday on wards. He had his mates round last night not a peep of music and today other than his mothers fury earlier it's deathly silent round here. I'm thinking maybe someone else got in before me complaining. Hopefully this is a sign that things may improve again

I decided to give watching 'Evil Genius' a go on netflix. Not sure what I think yet, other than I really didn't expect to see the guy with the bomb strapped to him actually blow up. God know's what his family must think them showing that? I mean Christ.

There was a time i was a night owl

I'd go to sleep at 4-5am and wake up 1-2pm

Now I'm generally in bed for 10-11pm and find myself getting up out of boredom by 4-5am coz I went to bed too early!

I preferred my night owl days

Where to go today so I don't have to be in this house. Cinema maybe.

Now thinking about how long it's been since I stopped taking meds. 10 years ago I was on diazepam then citalopram with propranolol and then finally just propranolol. Now I haven't taken anything for just under 2 years. I drink an awful lot of alcohol to cope with living here though. Before I moved here I'd only drink after a bad day at work now it's every day. It's the only way I seem to be able to relax enough to not slice everyone open and decorate the furniture with their insides.

Funny the things you find on the internet. I was trying to exchange info with someone on family history and the easiest way was to upload my tree gedcom file to Ancestry. Course it then started matching my tree with other ppls. Someone has posted photos of my mothers granny and my grandfathers siblings. Can't believe it. There are so few old family photos in our family. Wish my mum was a alive she would have loved it! as she had no photos. There are none of my Grandfather who died in WW2.

^ That's so cool! I've always wanted to know more about my family history, it's so interesting but wouldn't know where to start.

I should really workout today but I feel like a blob, I overate last night and I'm annoyed at myself.

^ It's pretty easy these days as much is online. English and welsh civil records can still be a pain. But parish records are more and more available, all censuses are availble. Scotland sorted itself out early and has all bmd/parish and census records online and scanned long before England got it's act together. Ireland if difficult. Other places like find my past and ancestry have collections of records. There's also military records and wills online. When I started on my English side I had to poor over microfiche in the library as bugger all was online. #geek

^ I've looked for names on the national war archives to fact check things, and I've even found navy photos and the parents names (my great grand parents) of family that died in ww2. My granny lost her brother and my grandad lost his 2 brothers. My great grand dad committed suicide in front of my granny due to psycological damage from trench warfare im ww1. They were all from Glasgow.

Really not a great time, I guess I'm lucky to be here.

There's a surprising amount of info out there sometimes. Yes hard times sadly .
My grandfather died in ww2 and was from Glasgow too. He was aboard the HMS Lagan when it was torpedoed.

I sometimes think were all luckily to be here, given the probability.

I've tried looking but don't you have to pay to get the good stuff?
My Dad's side are from Scotland so there should be something then.
Ha I can imagine it's quite addictive in an obsessive way to find out everything? How long has it taken you altogether?

How the hell do people manage typing / browsing on phones as their main device.

I can't be bothered to access a pc or laptop at the moment so I'm attempting to use my phone. I wouldn't mind it's not exactly a small crappy thing it's an s8+ but I really can't cope with this

You folk must be patient!
