I met a friend, and she dragged along 2 other friends (!!!) whom I knew. I coped with it though, but generally I like knowing who I'm meeting, or if others are meeting me with a group of friends. I dislike expecting to meet one person then I meet like 3 or 4 instead! But I managed to handle that by just concealing my internal turmoil.

Then I dragged myself grocery shopping. I usually hate doing it but I forced myself out.

So those are some things I did, and now I can safely stay at home.... yessssss.... for a week or 2..... :P

I haven't posted on this forum in a while but I wanted to share this.

I made two phone calls this morning that I was really scared to make. I've been putting them off for ages. I've been nervous about them for the last couple of days, but this morning I finally got the courage to press the "call" button. And it didn't go too badly. The people I spoke to were really helpful and helped me with a problem I've been worrying about for ages. Now all the anxiety I've had for the last couple of days is just gone. I'm so glad I managed to do it.

I finally went to the opticians which I had been putting off for a little while, I didn't feel as bad as I bought I would when all these different people were talking to me which is great it was probably because they were telling me information so I didn't really need to chat back.

Nice one, purplerose.

I hate the part of going to the opticians where they blow puffs of air into the eyeballs. That, and the part where they have to take a picture of the inside of the eyeball.

Had a good thought, which is that the best way to atone for past failures is to start succeeding right now.

I made myself go on a tour round Brighton Dome theatre today. Probably sounds daft and I have to admit it was a bit boring but it made me go to Brighton and do something out of my comfort zone that provoked anxiety. I did get quite panicked before hand but once I knew where I was supposed to be and what was occurring I felt better and didn't run from the building (which crossed my mind more than once).
I was out of sorts afterwards cause basically- Brighton on Saturday! A bit too crowded and annoying for me.
Still i'm pleased that I made myself go.

I can't say I put much effort into stopping the drink tbh.

I thought I had the big C which terrified me, so I had no choice but to stop.

I was diagnosed with something else and got the all clear after about 6 weeks.

I felt better so stayed off it.

^ Good going, Cairn.

I've just received my mark back for my latest assignment, and I've somehow managed to drop only three marks overall. I'm a little bit shocked as the essay half of the assignment I hadn't even begun twenty-four hours before hand-in (though admittedly I had planned it quite thoroughly), and one of the paragraphs I quickly shoved in in the final hour just to up the word count to a more impressive 9% over what was stipulated. I was certain it was a middling 2:1 at best. My tutor was really complimentary about my writing style too, which makes me want to bake her a cake and twiddle her hair or something.

Gonna be a difficult one to match.

good. fitness wasn't as badly affected by my long long absence as I had thought. The trainers are so much better than in Singapore. Still kinda looking around, but not as bad as I thought it'd be. Was terribly anxious about having to go there today, but it went fine

On four occasions since last Sunday I have successfully got my arse down the gym. I'm getting dangerously close to actually enjoying it. This is very odd for me.

I went to a meditation group yesterday. It was the first time I'd ever been to anything like that, and I thought there was a really nice atmosphere, along with very friendly people. I went with my boyfriend, so I suppose that was the reason I was able to attend without giving it too much thought (although I'd sort of suggested going yesterday) but whilst he was able to small talk with some of the other members after the meeting ended, I was that 'standing there smiling like a lemon person', but unable to actually say very much :/ still, it was overall a positive experience and there was no pressure to say anything if you didn't feel like it.

I think if I can find some similar groups close to where I'm located, it would be something I'd definitely consider going along to by myself as well. Nerve-wracking, but a possible chance to actually meet people and maybe even make some friends.

I didn't do this today but I've actually had a friend from work round to my flat to play guitar a couple of times recently. He's just learning so I've been going through a few chords with him. I haven't had a friend around since my latter days at school over a decade ago I don't think. On Thursday I even went for a couple of pints in the pub afterwards. I don't normally like going to pubs because of the noise and idiots but it wasn't so bad in the afternoon.

Went inside a crowded shopping centre today. I haven't done this for a long time. I usually stick to shops on the outside of the shopping centre. Managed to find the outfit I wanted for a special occasion, tried it on, queued and paid for it. My heart was going like a hammer, my breathing was shallow and I had a pain in my chest but I did it! :-) I also planted herbs and a cactus in a window box.
