Because it would be to the person I had feelings for. Recently I looked more deeply into what I felt and realised it was so much more about me than them. I was in love with them for a time but it eventually twisted itself into being in love with the idea of being in love. I didn't realise because I was too closely caught up inside it sustaining me to see it for what it really was.

I've come to see that I acted really badly in terms of hoping they would see me the same way. Trouble is, if I send this email it will just muddy the waters, like I said, and dredge up stuff that perhaps should just be left behind. I have to question whether the desire to do so is to satisfy myself by clarifying things unnecessarily, or whether I'm doing it for their benefit. Likely the former, but it'd be good to get this chunk of change outside of my head regardless.
