Rattled, I have spent the last hour with my counsellor discussing how to end my relationship and its making me realise that I'm not as strong as I thought I was.

^ I'm not too bad, had a bit of a random high anxiety moment on my lunch time walk today but it's passed and I'm starting to look forward to some time booked off work (starting this Friday).

Second appointment with CPN pathfinder person. She mentioned the dreaded CBT to me I was like Nooooooooo! However we didn't do it in the form of daft exercises, we just discussed things and used a much more deeper model. We also talked about biased conformity. Which clarified quite a bit for me about myself. I also explained my past experience of the CMHT - good and bad. But specifically the appalling way I was discharged and the person in question who did me a lot of damage. Now she is in a different mental health geographic area to me technically so I didn't expect her to know of him. Instead she said to me 'he is someone who has just come up on my radar, that and the reputation he has'. I was quite speechless. Looks like he's still treating ppl with MH problems like dirt I guess

All in all my sessions with her (so far) have made me realise this is how decent mental health care should be. She said today, that she may refer me to a psychologist, maybe, (I might not be accepted) or it may be that after the 6 sessions I'm allocated to her finish she'll just refer me back to her self, there's no wait with pathfinder just time limited sessions.

I at least feel someone (NHS wise) hasn't dismissed my issues as simply 'a little bit of anxiety' do a bit of graded exposure and it'll be fine. Or the old chestnut, CBT will help you, your just not applying it
Because of her approach I find myself being much more open and honest, about my past, about day to day struggles, about relationships with people and so on. She also understood the fact that you can have avoidance without the anxiety aspect. I have never met anyone who, NHS or otherwise, readily understood this.

I'll see how things go I guess. But even if it ends up only as 6 sessions it's still helpful and she will I'm guessing write a report to my GP, which might clarify things a bit for them.

Sorry for the long wandering post I just felt a need to 'orf load my thoughts.

Yes, I rode into a metal fence railing in the dark while commuting to work, I managed to ride the rest of the way to work but when I got there and got changed I couldn't stop my elbow bleeding so had to visit the village medical centre and ask if anyone there could see me so I got bandaged up, a tetanus shot and a course of antibiotics to take, it was two weeks ago now but I'm still bruised and swollen in places and still have a few scabs left.

^ Maybe your skin issues are linked to stress? (I realise that suggestions of reducing stress to help in this situation are unwelcome and unhelpful!)

I keep thinking what would happen if I were in social situations

It occurs to me I have absolutely nothing interesting to talk about, you go to work and its all..I went out and did this, oh I went to the gym..oh I went to a dance class

"I did nothing" ..its not even the doing nothing part that annoys me, its the fact if I could do annnnnnnything in the world ignoring anxiety...I can't actually think of anything I'd "want" to do I don't really want to do any class, go to a gym..go travelling...bugger all appeals

I don't know why, I do know its a brilliant conversation killer though, I have literally nothing to talk about.

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ Sorry to hear about recent events HH
It's good to hear you are doing better
I look forward to reading your posts, so I am glad you are back

Almost certainly dermatological flare ups can be exacerbated by emotional peaks & troughs
Have you ever done a consistent period of deep breathing exercises?
I'm not talking meditation or mindfulness
Just breathing....deep nostril inhale for 10secs, hold for 10, mouth exhale for 10.
20-30 minutes daily for a month

If you find your nose is a tad blocked at first,
Nostril inhale for 5, hold for 5, nostril exhale for 5
Repeat a couple times, that should make it clear

To be fair

I'm spending a lot of money on games in the hope it will encourage me to actually play them but usually I come home from work and slouch in front of youtube till I nod off. I've bought 6 new games in the last..2 weeks? I haven't even opened 5 of them!

Tired and Tired. But need to be up early tomorrow. Got these blokes coming to paint the inside of my front door tomorrow as I wasn't around on Saturday. And a meeting with a new advocate (mine left just before xmas ) to prepare for my appeal which is on Tuesday. Dreading it. Not just the outcome but the actual tribunal as well.
