Why do they put the infertility clinic in the maternity unit? I think that's about as sensitive as sending each infertile couple some baby clothes and a rattle.

It might just be the hospital I went to. Seems bloody insensitive though.

I've never understood that either, Ren =(

I remember my mum telling me they put my aunty in the maternity ward when she had a miscarriage like 19 years ago. I thought that was pretty bad too. Just lost a baby and she has to sit in with tons of new mums =( Poor woman.

I know it's not nice at all when I had to be taken in after I lost my baby, they actually put you up in the maternity unit too, Talk about a kick in the teeth

What Berry said - I work in the hospital - the doctors that are involved with pregnancies are obviously involved with the same bits when a lady is having probs with conceiving, if you are pregnant or not the docs that see you are in effect, lady part doctors so unfortuneatley all their patients are on the same ward or on the same out-patient list

I must say though that they should TRY to keep the infertility clinics apart from the full blown pregant clinics - having said that - are tehy not going to the clinic because they WANT to have a child?? So why hide the fact from them>? So yeah, if I was in charge I would not make a point of changing the set up to hide pregnant women from the infertility clinic.
