Default Amazon, have you ever been dissapointed with them?

Well, I've been using Amazon for years now and it's never let me down - until recently. Two CD's have not turned up and it's been a month now, I have sent an email to the users, one ignored me and the other was adamant they sent it. I didn't want to make too much of a big deal but I am a little annoyed and now I feel like I never want to use Amazon again.

Has anybody else been stung before?

Thank you for reading,
Take Care
Danny

I've bought plenty of books and the odd CD from Amazon without any problems. *Touches wood*

I hope your CD's turn up, Danny.

Over a month ago I bought a game off a seller on amazon. After a week I'd recieved nothing so e-mailed them. They said the item was out of stock (yet they still had it listed as available!). Then heard nothing for weeks, despite me emailing them numerous times to find out what was going on. Asked amazon to refund me in the end, which they did within a day.

Amazon are good, but the sellers aren't always. Although this is my first bad experience. Amazon sorted it out quickly for me though.

They once sent me the wrong book and I never did anything about it.
Other than that it's always been third party sellers, who amazon have taken responsibility for.

The only problem i've had from Amazon was when i ordered Catkins Christmas present from their market place and it didn't arrive until 10 minutes after i'd left for the meet.

I rarely buy from the market place, but when I do I've had no problems.

I have nothing but praise for Amazon proper. They once accidently credited me with £40. I pointed this out and they said sorry and that I could keep the £40! I also had my hubby's birthday wii stolen by the delivery company, I contacted amazon and got a replacement no problem at all.

I did once get a kitchen item delivered with a piece of chewing gum stuck on the side, but I guess that's some chav working in the warehouse, not amazon policy.

Amazon I find okay, I got more of an issue with Play.com- they send all your items apart and when they have "dispatched in 24 hours" they actually don't...

^ If you complain to Amazon a lot they will usually do something to make it up to you. When they delivered a book to me a week late I complained (by e-mail) and they gave me vouchers!

I've never been disappointed with Amazon proper but I've never got on with the individual sellers or the larger book sellers.

I'm currently waiting for a book which was supposed to turn up yesterday, and its for my Mum's birthday on Tuesday.

I emailed the seller yesterday evening and got no response, but they've debited the money from my bank account.

Thanks for the comments

Well, would you believe, the CD turned up this morning after over a month of waiting.. at least it turned up. There's one left to wait for but I don't think I'll bother too much with that one.

I bought a DS game from there that didn't work, so i had to faff around sending it back and getting a replacement. The replacement was fine and did work, but it was annoying having to sort all that out.

I've since found cheaper sources of books, DVDs and games which include ebay, abebooks and waterstones.com!

Oh, and it annoys me when amazon takes a while to send stuff out when it's only up the road from me in Milton Keynes!!
