Tired. Gotta go and do one of these MIND interview panels this morning. Least I know what to expect this time I guess. And I get free M&S sandwiches for lunch

Not true; there are people here who find you sympathetic and who are rooting for you. I'm one of them.

Not too bad today. Spent the weekend in Crewkerne in Somerset with a 9 month old down syndrome baby. Very very sweet and for about the first time ever didn't burst into tears whenever she was handed to me.

^ That sounds like an absolutely lovely way to spend a weekend I wish I had a cute baby to cuddle

Feeling so low and lack lustre today. I think constant heavy periods are not helping matters (sorry way too much info and in the wrong thread!)
Was suffering chest pain earlier and an aching arm so googled the symptoms of heart attacks. Probably just indigestion. Watch this space!

Tired, did the Mind interview panel. We were all unanimous on the choosen candidate. Also got to meet the new manager for the service in my village/area. He seems to know me! apparently he had a long conversation with me up at the mind I attend about the lack of services in my area. I have absolutely no recollection of this at all!! and certainly don't recall him. It was last year sometime, so I'm surprised he recalled me tbh.
As I was leaving the dept CEO was saying that my recovery worker (and manager of that particular mind) had told him I might be interested in some of the entry level jobs that may be coming up. Paid peer mentoring. So he was encouraging me with that, I was a bit shocked that my name has been bandied about down at head office. Scared me a little tbh.

Went to the CAB after, was there for 2 hours Got an appointment in couple of weeks to see an adviser that specialises in housing about my service charge.

I am feeling okay, I guess, Pia! I mean, I still go through the usual array of emotions that comes as a package with being an anxious sod but I'm dealing with it pretty well compared to how I did before. I just think I've accepted it as my fate now; as miserable as that may sound haha
Haha, I see you've made a new one! Aw no it sounds pretty positive - congratulations on the job today too!!

Really physically awful. I've just been throwing up over myself. I know what caused it, my sister and parents had it last week but I thought it wouldn't be contagious by the time I saw them...
I hope that's the last of it though I'd best stay away from people for a few days.

Glad the vomiting has at least stopped Al!

I'm stressed out about Exams. I hasten to add it's my son who is meant to be taking his GCSE's in 3 weeks time but at the parents evening the teachers said that it would be helpful if parents could do some revision with them (this is because most of the teachers haven't been doing their jobs properly these past few years) Accept I know NOTHING about Physics or Chemistry! Plus my son is adamant that he most definitely doesn't want me interfering. All I know is that I was revising like the clappers this close to the exams NOT going out socialising (tbh, I didn't have friends by then) and hoping the exams wouldn't happen! End of rant!!

I've had enough of taking my own exams in the past so I don't need the stress of this

Bet you wished you hadn't asked now AL

^^ I don't think my parents even looked at any of my revision when I was doing GCSEs! I would say don't stress too much though, they're only a stepping stone for whatever your son might want to go on to do. As long as he gets atleast 5 Cs or above he'll be fine ( and even if not it's not the end of the world). The fact that teachers are not doing what they should is the most worrying thing!

I agree with what Dougella said. It's not the end of the world if he doesn't do well. There are a few professional fields where you usually need a flawless academic record, but outside of those, it's not the end of the world. My cousin didn't even bother turning up to some of his GCSE exams, but his father sorted him out with an apprenticeship, so he's doing much better than me now! My parents wouldn't have dreamed of involving themselves in my revision! How things change. I suppose the schools are under a lot of pressure to get results.

Still not feeling better, but feeling the gult of not going back into the office. I don't think I've had three days off sick for as long as I can remember. But I don't want to go in and infect everyone. I know it's infectious since I got it from my parents after they felt better, and they got it from my sister after she felt better.
Maybe I should wear a face mask like they do in Japan.

Dunno how I feel. Bit of a weird morning. Went to animal sanctuary early as I had to leave early. Was pretty happy, talked to the cats etc etc.. Left early and drove to peer mentoring introduction, met the manager/my recovery worker and we went along to the lady's house. We were there for about 2 hours almost. Anyways... all i'm doing is going to go along and encourage/support her with decluttering her house and also help her to get up to one of the groups at MIND. So far we've pencilled in 3 sessions. Listening to her talk about stuff seems to have stirred? triggered stuff in me. Not in the moment but after I left. I did have a hording problem many years ago, and also had a emotional difficulty getting rid of my dad's/parents furniture when my dad died. Most of it with me was emotional attachment to things which were connected to memories or ppl. I think possibly because I kept moving as a kid and didn't want to I hung on to all things which were connected with the past and happiness? Although I don't have a problem with hording anymore it still seem to stir a lot up in me.

Totally not what I was expecting at all. Very odd. So I now feel quite depressed.

^ I'm sorry visiting the woman stirred up so many difficult feelings for you. But maybe having had those experiences makes you a good person to be able to support her.

Yeah perhaps, I was never a hoarder on this ladies scale mind you. I'm not sure if i'm going to like peer mentoring or not tbh. But it's worth giving it a go a guess.

^ Thanks Melangell . Yes it does seem to be around grief and loss commonly I think.

No I don't think grief goes either. Someone I used to volunteer with who was in 80's still wells up if she talks about her parents. Which amazed me, so yes I don't think it ever leaves you.

Aww thanks, I'm afraid i'm far from amazing though. A bit of an odd bod struggling along. xx

Yeah, I can imagine it being quite emotional at first for you.
Will just mentor the one lady at first? And do you feel any different about it after meeting her and reflection on it?

Aye, I don't think I could cope with nightshifts now like. Have you been doing nightshifts for long?
