Last night I had about three, to four hours sleep, I feel unwell and I can't get back to sleep, why?

ince it's now 6am really no point in trying. Not had an allnighter awake for q a while. Now I remember why I don't like them. Don't know what's been w the traffic all through the night and idiot up until 3am, after another overnighter Sun night.

I think I may have dozed off for an hour around 7ish, but I spent most of the night awake with my thoughts! It's been a while since I haven't slept at all - in fact, it's been weeks since I was last awake past 3am, but this was one where my brain wouldn't switch off (usually, I have trouble switching it on, as you'll all know from my posts!).

argh commiserations to the night shift crew, i got a decent bunch of hours refuge from normal brain activity and feel ok. am up, having my porridge, on course to go do a bunch of stuff. dayum ive even had myself a shower

hope some of you can have a delicious nourishing snooze today

I struggled again last night - which I thought i wouldn't as I hadn't slept the night before. I dozed off around 2am but woke at 2.30 and then couldn't get back to sleep again. I did get some, probably around 5am.

I'm sorry I didn't log back, I think it would have made matters even worse!

Exactly my night last night Jinny! Bizarrely two nights before I slept right through the night without waking once, which I last did about five years ago.

I've got these insane series of OCD bedtime rituals that I make myself believe I have to do otherwise I won't sleep. I never have OCD in the day, it's only ever around fear of not sleeping. I successfully put my foot down with it every so often and do none of it and sleep fine, but the routines soon start building up again.

I've woken to go to the loo and now becoming more awake with every passing second (40 minutes now since I tried to get back to sleep), so I thought I'd drop in and see if anyone else is in the wide awake club? At the moment, I'm 50-50 between trying to get another couple of hours and making coffee!

That's it. I'm movin he's still crashing around back of 3am. He's 43 I'm 46 he should know better. Oh and if any agency dare to turn up tomorrow about 'm behaviour. I.e. lack of daytime social skills they'll get a mouthful and a half. Mad.
