Thank god it's nearly over!
Don't think I can stand much more of watching boring Christmas TV with the oldies: The Bee Gees (before all but one died), Eric and Ernie (I watched this as a kid so it must be ancient), Coronation Street (I wish they'd all get shot because I don't know or care about any of the characters). Can't even go to bed until everyone has vacated the sitting room where myself and my other half will be sleeping on an uncomfortable blow up mattress.

Hopefully they all went to bed early and you managed to get a early night.

How avoidant I have become over the last two weeks, I barely leave the house if I can avoid it.
Going back to work is going to be difficult.

That today has been a shitty end to a fairly shitty year. Got an eviction notice last night, didn't sleep well, then went to work and pissed everyone off and cocked everything up in ways I'll only properly understand when everyone's back in on Thursday and tells me what an idiot I am. Good riddance 2019 you won't be missed!

I broke off work on the 20th of December

Barring walking the dog, I've not left the house to do anything once..I've been roaming round in my avengers dressing gown drinking baileys

It's too easy to stay inside, I tell myself I need it..and to be honest I've enjoyed avoiding people and events and things but part of me thinks I've wasted the time off

Back to work on thursday, its going to be ****ing miserable, I can't have a repeat year of 2019 with work/hours..its going to put me in an early grave.

I was slightly eager to say '**** off' to 2019, but I'm rather more concerned about what 2020 will bring. I'm very concerned about my own personal future, as it feels like there are so many issues I need to overcome, with very little support, but we shall see how that goes. I'm also incredibly saddened about what is happening to this country, and the world in general, both with politics and the environment. Urgh.

But to end on a positive note, I really hope this could be a year of great change for me personally. I really feel like I need to make some big changes and I hope I manage to do it. More importantly though, I really do hope that everyone here has a good 2020, and that you all manage to do the things that you would like to do and achieve. There are some incredible people on here, and many of you really don't realise how great you are.

^ that's a really nice thought and I hope the same for you, and that you're able to make the big changes you want to in small increments at a time.

Thanks, Mo. I've got until the end of February so have a bit of time to find a new place at least, and was planning on moving in the autumn anyway so it could definitely be worse, think was just a bit wound up today.

^ I had a feeling that might be the case. Not even garden peas? They're basically the same.

No! I'm not a monster. Would have had curry sauce with them though if available.

Edit: I think I heard you tut from here.

If I don't go for a wee soon I will wet myself, but it's nice and warm and snuggly in bed.

I keep thinking about the ex fella. I really, really don't like not being able to talk to him and having no idea how he is or what he's up to. Things weren't right between us for a while, but you can't spend 4.5 years of your life with someone and then just forget about them. I hate that I only really have these two-dimensional vignettes of left of us and don't really remember what it's actually like in the moment to just chat to him, hug him, call him names. I've tried reaching out to him a few times but he doesn't seem keen to talk. And when he does it's like he's someone else. It's fairly heart-breaking. It was me that ended things so I know I can't really have any expectations, but I just don't know how I'm meant to accept not knowing him anymore and potentially never knowing him again.

And the situation you have described regarding your ex is exactly what I fear most about ending my relationship, I don't know how I will process the feelings of loss and the almost inevitable bitterness he will have.

It would be nice to think we could remain in friendly contact but on the other hand I would probably end up overstepping the boundaries and poking my nose in where it's not wanted.

Sometimes I really envy those people who seem to be able to just detach themselves from a person and move on like they never existed.

^^ I've been in a similar situation. I guess when someone gets broken up with they have to kind of detach themselves from us in order to move on,not easy to deal with though. (The infuriating thing I found is when they're having a bad time and they come back expecting support from you, then bugger off again when they feel better, that's even worse!)

Glad your sheets were spared!

Yeah, it's really difficult - it's partly why it took me so long to actually do it, despite really having made my mind up a while ago.

I really thought we'd be able to remain friends - it's all we were really towards the end. I kinda want to just rock up at his house to talk to him face-to-face. Probably isn't the brightest idea though.

Yeah, I think you may be right. I just wish he'd give some indication he might actually want to be friends some time in future. When I've said to him I want to he says he doesn't see how it will work practically but that doesn't mean he doesn't want to (or something along those lines).

If only it was sufficient to stalk them on Instagram to see what they're up to and be happy with that. I don't know, maybe even creating an anonymous account so that you can look at their stories without them being able to check that you've seen. I don't do that, of course, I was just talking about a friend who does (you wouldn't know her - she goes to a different school).
