Monty was pruning his wisteria when the quake struck causing his hand to slip and cut the telephone wire, his last thought before the house collapsed on him was to weld it back together.

Zonko the clown knew it would be a bad day from the start. With a dark cloud hovering above his head, he knew his turn in the tent would mean a great loss of credibility. Why oh why did he go for the cream-filled pie-in-the-face gag over juggling fruit when he always knew that his partner in crime Blinky would miss.

Edwin the donkey often found his flatulence created problems during his stint with the local orchestral group with it often being mistaken for out-of-tune performance on his clarinet.

Alas! I have seen a gipsy vagabond! She practised in hackneyed fashion the science of palmistry and told me what such people usually tell; she uttered those words which left me confused as a newt; her intolerable lisp didn't help matters either but at least her apartment was laid out with undue precision as I effortlessly established the location of her bog.
