Crashed into a tree.
Didn't sleep well last night, went out in the car this morning ended up hitting a tree.
Physically okay it was at low speed but the car is a mess. It's not just any car either its a classic car i've had for a long time. Wish I had a friend to talk to, can't do this anymore. I'm constantly anxious, probably on the autism spectrum and very depressed. Won't go to a GP I don't trust them after last time when I was very ill they did not listen they treated me like I was an idiot trying to get a sick note or claim benefits or something even though I was running my own successful business at the time. When I say very I mean VERY but they were worse than useless. Can't do this anymore had enough when will it stop? Where can I get real help not the half arsed help from the NHS, I'm not looking for charity. I'm not MR money bags since I had to stop working but I've got a rainy day fund, this is a rainy day situation anyone know where to go, who to talk to? Most of the mental health retreats I see online look like they are for over privileged rich people who got too close to reality. I also have the problem of not being able to be honest with a GP anyway since it will go on my medical record which will make it very difficult to get work in my field. I'm not putting anyone at risk it's just a very old fashioned discriminatory system. If I can't get work in the future then I'd be even more *$£&ed than I am now. Anyone know of a place or a person who does residential treatments? Ideally in the UK or somewhere affordable have a couple of thousandish to spend. |

Re: Crashed into a tree.
There's accidents happening every day on the roads at this time of year,
It's maybe just that as your pride and joy classic car has been damaged it has affected your emotional outlook on things and you are possibly feeling desperate? At least try and see that thousands and thousands of ordinary people have accidents every year, it's very common, and relatively easy to do these days, Sleep can be a factor, I almost wrote off my car once due to a silly accident that I also felt was due to sleeping issues. Try looking online for local mental health drop-in centres or therapy groups, Seems like you are sensing that even just talking to someone would help a lot, I think MIND have a good presence/coverage in England? There's also free phone help lines for mental health issues if you feel that simply talking about things could help? |

Re: Crashed into a tree.
You could look for a private therapist if you're able to pay, that probably wouldn't go on your medical record. You might need to see a few different people before you find someone you click with though.
Would a diagnosis of autism affect your ability to work in your particular field? You can go to your GP (a different one from last time!) and ask to be referred for an autism assessment. It can take months or years depending on where you live. Or you could pay to be assessed privately if you prefer not to wait. |
