Friends TV show- Love, Loathe, Hate, Dislike

The other day I was speaking in their 20s, and they said they hated Friends- the TV show. I was quite surprised by this. It was/is a great series I thought.

What's your general feeling towards Friends?

I hated it in the 90s as I was in my teens with no friends or social life so the whole show was a kick in the teeth. Then as I got older I rewatched it and thought it was really good.

It was good at the time, in the 90s. I remember it going to shit in later seasons but i'd stopped watching it by the time i'd left school (98?). Friday nights on CH4, great stuff. I think i remember Tuesdays were good for comedy too. Man, i miss those days... long gone and gradually getting misremembered as the years while on Did they even happen... who can tell

Also, I wonder if the Big Bang Theory is like the more moden version of Friends, but a bit more neurodivergent and also funnier. But maybe its funnier to me because I work in science. There is also a funny cat song that I sing

yeah I reckon it is. Big Bang Theory is good. That is funny that there is a cat song in both.

Yeah, absolutely love it.
I never found anything funnier than Friends and The Simpsons.
I've tried so hard, but nothing could come close to these TV shows.
Watched a full season of "How I met your mother", which was really poor.
Then tried American Dad, Family guy, South Park, Bob's burgers and many others.... Nothing stands close.

I still like some TV shows like "Futurama" and "Rick and Morty" and even rewatched Rick and Morty several times and it's good, but it's just not Simpsons...

I do remember that I disliked Friends when I was watching random episodes and I couldn't understand what is so funny, but it's because the jokes were out of context, but when I finally started from episode 1, it was good.

There also were some relatable stuff of a sort. For example, this time when Chandler and Monica are talking and Monica is saying that she afraid that she will miss that feeling when you meet someone new and it is exciting and Chandler don't understand her and says "see, when I first meet someone it's a panic, anxiety and sweating"

It's me exactly, even with the person I fell in love with. It's actually even worse in that case.

Edit: I am also a 32 years old guy, who enjoy watching HumorBagel channel on YouTube. It's a guy who is doing farting pranks, it's so funny... My humour is messed up.

I never made an effort to watch it; if I recall correctly, it began in the mid-90s, when I was working shifts and living in London, so I was rarely home at particular times to watch anything regularly. A little over a decade ago, I did have a partner who was a bit of a fanatic and made me sit through the box set of "The One With All Ten Seasons" and I may have smiled occasionally.

More recently, I shared a dormitory with someone who watched several episodes of Friends (I recognised the dialogue) on his laptop whilst I was trying to sleep, so if you want my current opinion, I hate it (I should add that he wasn't watching at an unreasonable time - it was the last night of my trip and I had an early-morning flight, so went to bed at 9pm).
