Re: What are you looking forward to?
^ I was gonna ask who you're seeing, but I've done some snooping and think I've worked it out. Oh ma gush - noice!
It can be a bit claustrophobic right in the thick of it, but crowds tend to thin out at the edges and towards the back, so you'll probably find it a bit better there. Assuming it's a smallish venue, you'd still likely have yourself a decent view (e.g. this was my view of my lord PG with only slight camera zoom stood at the side of a venue with standing capacity of a thousand, but I've had similar with around double that way back when). |

Re: What are you looking forward to?
^ Dammit! I thought I was being right clever.
It was close. Tickling his chin with a marshmallow was all I could think about (though that's the case day-to-day too). Aw, that's naff. Hope you're feeling considerably less bum-like fast. Get yourself dancing about now, I say. You don't need to wait for no gig. |

Switching broadband, assuming nothing goes wrong its happening in under 3 weeks.
I have been waiting quite some time for this, stuck on pathetic 2mbps. It feels like this time it may actually happen. Wow, just think, I will actually be able to watch on demand !!! |

Going to Wales next week! I can't wait. Gonna climb mountains, eat cooked breakfasts and feel the rain and wind in my face. Going with my best mate too!

Re: What are you looking forward to?
Nice. I've just had a peek at the map - is it quite a challenge trekking about? What's the terrain like? Presuming you've been before. I've only walked the South Downs really, and it's all gentle, rolling hills.
You've got me thinking about bacon sarnies from the previous post. |

Re: What are you looking forward to?
Not at all, but depends on a person's idea of challenging. Wales is not the Himalayas! But if it's windy and cold and you're wet and tired and have been walking all day, it can still tire you out. The mountains are all moderate, easily doable in a few hours.
Scotland is far more challenging, many badly defined and rugged paths underfoot, plus it is a lot more isolated. Beautiful though! |

Re: What are you looking forward to?
Hahaha, yeah, i didn't have Himalayas in mind, just a step up from what i'm used to more like.
Mm, it's got me thinking. I am limited with this poxy job of mine - i'd have to find cover before i can think of taking even a couple of days off. I wouldn't really want to go alone neither ... Nah, sod it, i'll just stay put i think. |

There's many stories about why it is named Cadair Idris (Idris's Chair); personally I like the one about a giant named Idris who liked to sit there and look up at the stars. I'd like to spend a night up there alone. Pretty sure someone from here did just that not so long ago, but I can't remember who it was... I slept alone on a hill once when I was about seventeen. I'd been out drinking with my friends, and I wasn't ready to call it a night when they did. I wanted an adventure. So I went up the hill behind my house and slept in a ditch lined with pointy stones. I woke up at first light freezing bloody cold and hungover. That was not a nice walk home. |

Re: What are you looking forward to?
^Cool. Sleeping outdoors is one of life's great pleasures. A pity UK laws are so ******** thesedays. No tents, camp fires or anything, and who wants to pitch on a boring, smelly, children-infested camp site? It sucks mammoth's testacles.
There is a wee lake at the foot of the south approach to Cadair that I have often seen tents pitched by, but they likely have permission to be there. |

I don't think you need permission to camp there. And even if you do, I very much doubt someone's hiking up the mountain every night to check who's up there. |
