This probably sounds rather cynical but I believe that it's in the average Human beings nature to put their own interests above others and so when it feels that someone has treated you selfishly try not to take it too personally because it has literally happened to everyone.

People generally seek out people who are helpful and who they know that they can rely on. Perhaps thinking of it in this way can put a slightly more positive light on these kinds of situations, Gomen, rather than leaving you feeling used and resentful.

The important thing is, are you able to go to them when you need something? If they are never willing to help you in the way that they expect you to help them then perhaps you should spend more of your time helping folk who are a little more reciprocal and deserving.
