Thanks Z. I'm not too bad, just feeling fed-up with pretty much having been in the same situation with living and work for the lasy 10 years without any real change or improvement.

Biscuits:

Thanks for the reply, it's ok I know that not every post can be replied to on here and sometimes there will be people who want to reply but can't think of what to say (like me).

I know a new job is really what I need now but I've been in my current one for over 13 years and leaving seems like some impossible thing far away on a horizon somewhere that I can never reach.

I tend to waste a lot of my time daydreaming that I'll win the lottery and eveything (work wise anyway) will be ok and I'll get some kind of second chance at life but this is looking for the easy option and I'm starting to that it's getting too late to attempt the hard option (making changes myself), I also fear that I'll struggle to learn anything new for a different job for some reason.

Upon arriving at my appointment, I realised that I was in an 'all day' health centre within a hospital. I suppose it's normal for it to be open all day then

I know that my GP surgery is open until 7:30 pm on Mondays which is pretty handy for those that work past normal opening times.

I cling on to the memories of my 20th birthday. The only time in my life people made an effort to make me feel special and make sure I had a good day. Ironically it was people I had known for less than 2 months. Maybe that's the problem. I haven't met anyone new for a long time and everyone who knows me has grown to dislike me or just don't care anymore.

It's so confusing having an hour's sleep in the afternoon...first time I have ever done that and seems so strange that it is still the same day as before I went to sleep.

I can empathise. My brother is an alcoholic, it's practically destroyed the family. He has two sons, one of them won't speak to him anymore.

An ice-cold Coca-Cola sucked through one of those straws that are glasses. I think Elton John had some once, but I don't know if he did Coke.

So Corbyn was elected...

I wonder how long it'll take the Corbynites to see through the whole sham? I'll give it a year.

It's just the whole SYRIZA façade repeating itself all over again.

Here's Corbyn saying what will be his own epitaph: "You chose... poorly".

Perhaps if more people said this to her, she might not have left. It's like obituaries (I hope not in this case) in the media. EVERYONE'S great once they're gone. I bet you Tony Blair's will be tame.

Well, I'm going to leave now as no one appreciates me...

Why were all her posts deleted?

Apparently, the admin or mods can NOT delete an account due to the mess it would make on the board, making many threads senseless. It would have continuity issues and people replying to nothing and answering no questions.

I was always told you can only be stopped from accessing your account.

Now, magically it seems, someone has had her account deleted.

You can request for all your posts to be deleted and to be banned but that's it. If she decides to come back her account will still be there.
That doesn't make any sense. If you can ask for your username to be changed... then next day ask for all your posts to be deleted and be banned, in what sense is your account still your account?

It reminds me of this:

How can you when you are banned? Am I missing something... or does banned mean being unable to access your account? If it doesn't mean that, then what does 'banned' mean?

You can contact the admin team to unban your account.

So let's call a spade a spade.

There is no point is requesting to be banned as it achieves nothing and is only a nominal ban.

It does reduce the temptation to return if you're banned, rather than just not going on the site. I know this from personal experience.

^^^^ It acts as an extra barrier to remind yourself not to come on and start posting because of whatever the reason is you decided to have a ban.

and you both beat me to it

I agree though m a spade is very much a spade.

Sometimes people find it helps them to get out of the habit of using the forum too much. If someone logs on all the time instead of getting other stuff done, being unable to post can make them be more productive. It's kinda like asking someone to put the biscuit tin out of your reach. If they're there, you'll eat them idly but you probably won't ask them to get them down for you until you REALLY want one.
