Would you hate me if i pointed out that they are not acronyms but initialisms? (Bear in mind that I only know this because i forgot what an acronym was and had to google it)

I'm glad that was addressed in 28 Days Later: 'I promised them women.' I don't really respect canons that don't.
The Walking Dead has had a few rape moments in the vein of 28 Days Later - you know, women almost being raped but getting away.

It was most brutally addressed in the TV series 'Threads', though. 'Threads' is like the British version of 'The Road', made twenty years before the 'The Road'. And unlike 'The Road', there's none of that American optimism about 'humanity enduring'; it's more like, 'humanity will descend into barbarism, rape and kids giving birth to cancerous mutant children amongst the rats they've just been eating'.

Behold, the beginning of 'Threads', the bleakest TV series ever made anywhere.

"Jesus Christ, they've done it."

^ We watched that at school. It was probably in the national curriculum to standardise children's nightmares.

^I think you might be right; we read 'Children of the Dust' (it's a bit more fantastical than 'Threads' but it starts off the same way) which gave me the most horrifying nightmares for years.

^ "Jesus Christ, they've done it." wasn't the beginning either. There was a lot of build-up with the main characters getting on with their lives against a backdrop of news reports which were similar to stuff we saw on the real news every day. It was horribly convincing.

Definitely be watching the rest of the series.
It was bloody brilliant. So many unanswered questions! I reckon they're on the moon or something.

Was there? I haven't seen it in years, i thought that there wasn't that much exposition before the bombs rained down.

I shall make it up to you by introducing you to Tim (unless you've already met him), i think you're gonna love him (unless you've already met him). He has hundreds of vids.

The new series of the Apprentice, and holy mackerel, I think the producers have outdone themselves this year in finding a bunch of arrogant narcissistic idiots, and the bullshit levels are higher than ever before from this lot, but on the bright side, there's a guy with the most amazing eyebrows I have ever seen

Westworld

I've been massively excited for 2years since I heard about the pilot. It was utterly mesmerising.. Just a fantastic first episode. The orchestral version of Paint it Black during the gun fight was one of my favourite things for a long, long time.

Can't wait for the next episode.

Or an episode where they find an empty Toys R Us and turn it into their own Fun House. If i ever find myself in a post-apocalyptic world, i'm killing on the spot anyone who acts even remotely secretive. You're done.
Yup, I'm still watching but not sure why. I'm still pissed off that they missed out on the world is going to shit and all the interesting questions and themes they could have explored, it all seemed to go from somewhat safe to completely ****ed in about a day. It's all so hamfisted and lame...The writing and story arcs are really, really vanilla which is such a shame considering the budget and the readymade fanbase.

^I found the last two episodes (or maybe it was the last three, I’ve forgotten which ones certain things happened in) were a vast improvement; I felt there was some strong character development and some good character-driven action.
And for the first time since I’ve been watching this show, I actually found myself getting behind some of the characters. I also really liked some of the atmospheric shots, too, in spite of the fact they were blatantly ripped off from Michael Mann films.

Alan Partridge's Scissored Isle.
Every new outing for Alan raises the bar on the comedy.
I nearly burst a lung watching Alan on the tills.

Toast of London, I watched the pilot way back and didn't really get the appeal but it's pretty funny the second time.

^I know you don't like American TV, but that is where all the good stuff is these days. Something like 'Spaced' wouldn't get a chance on British TV these days, it would be seen as too much of a risk. American TV makers, these days, are way more open to taking risks on innovative new ideas.

I said "these days" in every sentence there.

Currently watching Derren Brown's new special. I normally love his stuff, but i just can't get into this one.

i was saying the other day its like 'Broadchurch" the first series was great and then the second was pointless.
