^ Oh shit, i didn't even think of that.

Gutted Brazil are out.

France vs Belgium is going to be a great semi final. I predict the winner of that game will go on to win the world cup.

I think we need a convincing win against Sweden or a good, all-round performance at least. Scraping through to the final wouldn't feel deserved the way we're going - beating two shit teams, a 'dead rubber' loss and a skin of the teeth win against Colombia isn't the sort of team who lifts the cup, we need to play well at some point.

^ I have a small feeling that England will get ko'd by playing boring football. Hope I'm wrong.
Regardless of the result, I reckon this could be a bore fest

I was right, the first 30 seconds has been a bore and devoid of any action.

2 mins in... there's nothing I can see that suggests we can win this game.

A goal is a goal and it shouldn't really matter how it's done, but is anyone slightly concerned at how we hardly score any goals from open play?
If I'm correct, only Lingard's goal against a poor Panama has come from open play (and Kane's goal in the same game, but that was massively deflected).
But I suppose if we're getting the job done it shouldn't really matter.

Like you say though a goal is a goal and thats all that counts in the game.

Its amazing to think though that England (with all their obvious limitations), are Genuine favorites to reach the World cup Final. And if Belgium/France have an off day in that final (which is not THAT unlikely) then its perfectly conceivable that they could actually win the entire tournament!!!!

Clearly the luck of the draw is the main factor in whats happening, but its still incredible to see this tournament play out. Even Russia (thought to be the weakest side in this World Cup at the start) could possibly win the thing too!!

On that thought Ive been racking my brains the last couple of days but cant think of any WC that has had a weaker finalist than the current England/Sweden/Russia/Croatia teams of this tournament.

I know a mediocre Greece side won the Euros in 2004 but nothing similar has happened in the World Cup itself.

We live in strange times....

England reaching the semis is a huge achievement, but I feel slightly underwhelmed by it. Maybe because I'm sleep deprived after having a new born, I dunno.

Harry Mcguire is immense ! i had reservations about him going into the tournament but i was totally wrong, has been the best defender in the competition by a distance, i wouldn***8217;t be surprised to see some big bids incoming .

France vs Belgium is almost like a premier league match. Most of the players play in England. So hyped for this fixture

Can only watch the 1st half as it clashes with Holby City.

Half an hour to go. I fancy the Belgians... by a goal, it's gonna be close

^ It's too hard to call, isn't it. They're very evenly match. I'd say Belgium, but I feel France hasn't even come close to peaking yet.
