Do you believe in mysterious creatures like Bigfoot?

This probably seems a bit of a random thread but I've been watching some stuff online recently about 'cryptozoology' and creatures like Bigfoot, Chupacabras and Alien Big Cats. I was interested what people's thoughts on here were about this sort of thing or if anyone has had any strange experiences themselves?

I think there is possibilities of something like the lock ness monster due to the fact it might of come from the ocean somehow. The ocean is very big and we know very little about it. However its doubtful there is anything there now as it either left one way or other or got lock-ness-monster-napped. If there ever was anything we will never know as its doubtful it is anymore. Cant find something that aint there.

However things like big foot legend is probably based on very tall, big, hairy people. Some kinda genetic thing that made someone very hairy. Which created a legend about this legendary hairy man. Which turned into the big foot legend. (The foot would of been some kinda genetic deformity thing too.)

As for first one.. Not sure what hell that is tbh. Could just be deformities I guess but im not sure what thats based on so I wont comment. If not just a plastic model to all I know. Some set piece in a tv show. =p I mean because I cant base it on anything as I cant think what its referring too.

A good book for this sort of thing is "How to think about weird things" by Theodore Schick and Lewis Vaughn which you should be able to get for less than a fiver from amazon (used). It gives you the tools to think critically and carefully about these and other things and decide for yourself.

I sometimes think though if we did discovered aliens, the truth is within 3-4 months it would lose its excitment and it would just be as normal as there being fish in the sea (I guess because it is or would be). I think the idea of cyborg/machine aliens is more interesting, there are probably aliens out there that travel through space to other planets, to them the fact it might take millions of years woudlnt be an issue.

I remember seeing something where they tried to analyse that famous Bigfoot film to prove that it was genuine, by doing stuff like going to the original site, working out the position of the camera relative to the tree line and showing that the creature was, like, 8 foot tall. Also stuff about how the costume was more realistic than those in planet of the apes when the footage came out about the same time as the film and the planet***8230; costumes cost thousands. I still think it looks totally goofy though.
