How do you celebrate your Birthday.
Just wondering how everyone celebrates their birthday’s, do you decorate the house, go out ect?
My typical birthday for the past fifteen years or so would be to put some birthday banners up, spend the day with my mom in the last five years or so we would spend the day at home and maybe go for a coffee together, then we would have a pizza for tea and maybe watch something on the television together. |

Re: How do you celebrate your Birthday.
^ I no how you feel, I don’t really like them, my mom used to like to celebrate so I did it with her but now she’s gone I probably won’t bother anymore.
I used to like birthdays up until 25 then I realised, I’m only getting older from here. |

Re: How do you celebrate your Birthday.
I like getting some cards and maybe a pressie, but mostly I just hope no one makes a fuss of it and leaves me alone to quietly ignore the occasion My family have long since got the message that I'm not arsed about it.
Might get myself a takeaway, or some junk food to pig out on, that's about it. Like Mr. Elf, I don't particularly enjoy being faced with being a year older, especially considering I'm only a couple of buffdehs away from being in my 40s. I'm still 12! This is all some big mistake! |

^ I think after you get past a certain age everyone hates birthdays.
If only we had a time machine we could go back to being young again. |

I eat a meal of Haggis, oatmeal and potatoes. Usually at home on my toad, but on occasion itll be out somewhere.
Birthdays arnt much of a deal either way for me. |

Re: How do you celebrate your Birthday.
I don't. Other people (parents, sister) try to make a big deal of it but ultimately I find it depressing to think about. I'm in the worse end of my 40s and heading the wrong way fast. I have no hopes or dreams any more, just slow decline. It's nothing to celebrate.
Maybe if I didn't have such an astronomically negative sense of self and could handle attention, I might feel differently. Last edited by anxiouslondoner; 23rd May 2022 at 21:27. Reason: meh |

Re: How do you celebrate your Birthday.
Something different each year!
A few things I've done for my last six birthdays are: Visit the Harry Potter Studios (which I think I might do again this year because it's had some additional areas since I last went!) Visit the National History Museum Afternoon tea Watch the play of The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time Various gigs |

Re: How do you celebrate your Birthday.
I don't really celebrate, I do get cards from family members and my partner and often some vouchers and the odd present (which is likely to be a book or cd I've asked for and am very happy to receive!)
I don't go anywhere or do any kind of activity. |

A lot of people seem to not celebrate thier birthdays, I can relate as it is depressing getting older, I would celebrate getting younger though.

Re: How do you celebrate your Birthday.
I don't really like a fuss being made of it, but I like having an excuse to do something enjoyable, so if anyone I know suggests something I'll happily oblige. Usually it's just dinner and drinks in the evening and maybe something else during the day, in the past I've been to an escape room, bowling, hiking, ice skating, etc, or been on holiday (not specifically for that, but definitely booked with being away at the time in mind). I hate cards for any occasion though, I think they're just vile. Thankfully nobody ever gives me one because I always make it clear how I feel about them.

Not much unless it's a big one, then I usually get an extra bank holiday and guilt trip my subjects into honoring me in various touching and spontaneous ways.

Re: How do you celebrate your Birthday.
I hate my birthday, it's always a reminder of my everlasting grief, my other half being missing. It is just as equally as bad as Christmas. Last year's birthday was more miserable than normal, I found it really depressing and ended up having a cry, I was feeling really low.
My brother & sister usually get me a card and give me some money. But I don't bother with doing anything special, as I have nothing to celebrate. |
